I suffered a head injury as a result of rolling an excavator on its side at work.. After surviving the ordeal and feeling embarrassed and traumatized from the accident I went to seek medical attention to see if I had a concussion. When I arrived at High Country I was with a friend that was helping me because I was still disoriented and confused. When we walked in my friend was looking around and said to the reception, "oh sorry I'm with him." As they thought she may have been a potential patient. Without skipping a beat the receptionist retorted, "I'd be sorry to be with him too." Neither of us found this funny but the two girls sitting behind the desk laughed at us anyways. We shrugged it off as I was really just there for medical attention and not to play games or get into it with anyone. My friend said she loved seeing the place as she worked in a PT clinic as well and after telling where she worked the same receptionist made fun of her place of work and made both of us just feel like we had been made a laughing stock. The other girl behind the counter just yelled, "shoots fired!" like we were old buddies joking around. I found the professionalism to be egregious and lacking in basic empathy. I felt belittled and harassed before I had even said a word to them. I hope no one else has to deal with that much disrespect in a place that already feels vulnerable.
