Hero Braces

Our almost 12 year old lab, Abby, had TPLO surgery on her left leg several years ago for a torn cruciate ligament. She recently started showing signs of a torn cruciate ligament in her right leg. She is too old to go through another surgery so we decided to give Hero Braces a try. From the initial consultation to the brace fitting (they graciously allowed us to come to their location in Nebraska and they took care of the brace casting for Abby personally) to the speedy manufacturing/delivery and finally the adjustments that needed to be made, this company is truly top notch. With her brace, Abby is able to go up and down stairs on her own again and has returned to her daily walks/play time with our much younger lab, Pepper. The fact that the brace is waterproof has really come in handy since Abby loves to play in her kiddie pool. Abby is living her best life and we have nothing but thanks and appreciation for Hero Braces. This group is really passionate about helping animals and it really shows. Unfortunately our vet told us Hero Braces made carbon fiber splints but turns out they only use plastic. So if you have a dog that likes to chew I do not recommend these at all. After a week this happened WHILE she was wearing them. Customer service is nice but they want us to send back and forth whenever this happens so they can repair and it’s just not worth it to continually repair these $1800 plastic splints.

Our 13 year old chow had a torn ACL. We used the brace and he is happy walking 3 miles a day. He never complains about getting it on. We were worried it would matt or damage his hair but it has not. So much better than extensive expensive surgery.

My dog had a degenerative reaction to a medication that weaken her back legs beyond repair. Before Hero Braces, she was hobbling on her hocks to go outside, but had nearly no mobility outside of that. I tried several non-custom options, but nothing fit or truly supported her posture. Hero Braces were exactly what we needed to get her to a normal posture and give her back a normal life. After her diagnosis, I thought I may never walk her again, but now we go on 1 to 2 walks every day. Hero Braces are pricey, but after having them for over 6 months now, they are well worth the cost and I am beyond grateful!

The Hero brace is transformational! Our 14 year-old poodle shih tzu mix is not a candidate for surgery and we thought his walking days were over. He was injured at the beginning of July and we got our brace near the end of August. Last weekend, he made several hikes to the doggie beach in our state park campground! It's easy to put on and has given our whole family a new lease on our life outdoors together. So grateful for the patient folks at Hero Braces who made sure Toby had the right fit.

We got the Hero brace a couple of months ago. Our dog, Jake, is 120lb and the brace is doing exactly what we wanted for him. People at Hero braces have been very helpful. I strongly recommend their brace.
