I read lots of good reviews about this hearts and hands but unfortunately my family did not receive a 5 star experience. We waiting 4 months on a waiting list, received 3 months of service once we go then without ever notifying me insurance would not cover the full amount of the visits or discussing my portion of the cost with me I was billed almost $800 and told my son could not return until the balance was paid. Once I paid the balance my son had two visits and we were told that they no longer had a speech therapist for him, so from October to February my son couldn’t attend. I selected new affordable speech therapist company ready, set, speak and paid out of pocket, and was also able to get my son in special needs pre-k. In February when my son returned to a. New hearts and hands therapist he had two visits before I was told he couldn’t return until they received his IEP. Which makes no sense to me if they really cared about the patients we would have been told bring his IEP to his next visit not he can’t return until we get it. I also received a letter from insurance saying that my son was approved for 10 visit without the IEP and he only received 2. Hearts and hands may have a few good therapists but as a company and brand they are trash. You can do better. Search harder for your little one good help is out there.

Hannah the speech therapist is amazing. She was always so welcoming and gave strategies to try at home. Unfortunately our OT experience was a nightmare. After being on the waiting list for 6 months we finally were able to get in. The therapist was aggravated with my 7year old autistic son during most sessions, after about 3 months we received an email that she wasn’t actually certified for occupational therapy (go figure) .. we were placed back on the waiting list. Eventually they hired a new OT and sessions started, things seemed to be going well. One evening after my sons OT session she brought him out to the lobby and told me “he had the best day, I’m so proud of him” so I was very surprised and caught off guard when I received an email later that afternoon from a director stating my son could not return because his OT feared for her safety around him. I tried reaching out to her to see exactly what happened, she read my text and never replied. When asked for an explanation from the director he asked me not to message the therapist anymore. I never received any feedback. I found a new therapist but being that hearts and hands had just did an evaluation his insurance would not cover another one. I emailed the director and asked could I get copies of the evaluation, no response. I sent another email telling him I would go into the office and pick up a copy of the evaluation he messaged me back asking me not to go into the McDonough location. I never received the evaluations. Just received his insurance statement for 2019 and see they continued to bill for sessions after we were put out. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Think twice about this company, one of their staff members used my child’s intake info and created a second intake with incorrect info within that intake, she then emails me the 2nd intake that I “supposedly” created. I reviewed that intake and notice it was not the one I completed. Contacted this office’s manager and she refused to address the problem. ** New parents coming into this location, always download your intake form and send it to yourself. Because their staff has access to their website which is open for anyone to create another intake on your child without your knowledge and consent. If you simply didn’t want to see my special needs child, inform the parent and stop violating HIPPA policy by going back to the website and creating a new intake and noting in that intake that my child didn’t have a IEP, he’s special needs, why wouldn’t he have an IEP. Also I was told my Jen Bush that she had all the info needed for scheduling. And so he was scheduled. This is proof that I completed my initial intake thoroughly and properly, or either we wouldn’t have been scheduled. This office is sneaky and I don’t trust them with my or my son’s personal information. If they did this to us or wonder who else has been done this way.

We have been attending this clinic for almost 3 years now. We get services for 3 of our children, two of which are Autistic. At the time there was not many options in McDonough and I went in not expecting much. I assumed because there wasn't enough competition the morale would be low. I was so wrong and pleasantly surprised. My daughter has been through 2 speech therapist, and 2 Occupation Therapist. My son has been with 1 speech therapist (graduated) and 2 OTs. I've learned that the turn around rate for therapist can be very high. Although I've seen some come and go, the turn around rate is comfortable. The thing I love most about this place is, all the therapist seem to meet the child where they are. By that I mean, they feed off of the child, they take nothing personally and set the child up for success. That is so important to me because kids have "off days" just like adults. I've felt so comfortable here and when my kids no longer need therapy it will be so bitter sweet. As far as admin goes, they are super quick with responding and are very very organized. My only complaint has been the waiting list. We've been on it twice between 2 of our 3 kids. Once switching OTs and once for my son to start speech services, but waiting lists are the norm in this industry and it was just a few weeks. I love that they allow you to choose to shadow or wait in the waiting area! I've heard so many times how other therapist don't allow parents to go back. Although I choose to shadow only every couple of months, I think this is nice. It gives you the opportunity to get the know the relationship between your child and their therapist, also to ease nerves when you first start. I love hearts and hands!

We have been using Hearts and Hands for well over a year now for OT and Speech. The therapist that see my children are nothing short of amazing! Kaitlyn, Hannah and Lacey are phenomenal! The main office however has its issues. A new attendance policy was implemented that leaves parents wondering if money is more important than the kids well being. I am aware proper attendance is crucial for maximum progress and the therapists of course have to make a living. However, many of the kids being seen have complex medical problems. My son included and sometimes, more than two absences occur. The therapists are so booked as it is, makeup sessions are hard for all participants involved. Especially with kids enrolled in various other therapies. It is my fear, this new policy will have parents bringing their sick kids to therapy out of fear of losing their spot, thus putting immunocompromised kids like my son at risk. Over the past few weeks, I have witnessed several parents bringing in sick kids to therapy. It is also concerning to me that there is no secretary at the McDonough location. No one to check in with, no one to drop paperwork off to. It seems like they pour their money into the Woodstock location but nothing for the McDonough office. There isn’t even a direct number to call to reach the McDonough office. You have to text your therapist and pray they get it in time. It’s ridiculous and a safety concern. Anyone could walk in off the street. It is like pulling teeth to get anyone to answer the phones when you call the Woodstock location. Emails are redirected to multiple people before you get a response and the waitlist is awful. The main office gets an attitude when you call the main location to see where your kid is at on the waitlist.

took my lil one for a year and a half. we had one speech therapist but his occupational therapist was changed 3 times in a year. my lil one is autistic and doesn't do well with change but heart and hands McDonough can not keep therapist. they have maybe 4 that have been there but they stay booked, other than the four, it's a revolving door of brand new therapist who don't get much direction and no supplies. they have to buy everything themselves so over and over my lil man went to therapy in mostly empty room with someone I've never met. the last straw was a few months back when his well check up didn't go as planned and was rescheduled but after his Dr appt i was informed we were kicked out of the schedule for his speech teacher who we have seen the entire time. I told her no that's not right but she said I can put you in with a BRAND NEW speech therapist, just give her a chance. I told her I was so sick of all the new people!! BUT I told her I would give her a chance. she said someone would call me to schedule.. guess what?? NEVER heard from then again. It seems this place is a clique. If your not part of the clique then you are kicked to the curb!! my lil one had an amazing OT and they fired her and just told me over the phone oh well.. you can get another new therapist.. we never did. so now Im looking for a new place that cares about their therapists and wants to keep them there for stability for children who can't deal with constant change like that! wouldn't reccomend the McDonough location

My twins attended the McDonough location for speech therapy, one for a year and the other for two years. They were both nonverbal at 2 years olds and now speak wonderfully! Our therapists gave us great tools and tips for home to compliment thier care and it has done wonders - we're so pleased with the care our kids recieved!

We really enjoy Hearts and Hands. My family has always had a great experience and the therapists go above and beyond to help the kids.
