Jim is great! I originally saw Jim for SI joint pain following a difficult to heal sacral stress reaction and was back to running after a few short weeks. I appreciated Jim's approach to the injury, thinking about all things outside of the SI joint that could be contributing. Now that I'm healed up, I'm looking forward to seeing Jim on a regular basis to stay healthy and prevent running injuries before they pop up.

Jim is not only the best Physical Therapist I have ever been to he is probably one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. Our son went to Jim in high school for knee problems due to growth plate issues. He loved football but this problem was really holding him back. Jim helped him so much that his senior year he played both offense and defense and was healthy all season, having his best season ever. Then I went to Jim for PT following two surgeries. One of my surgeries was a new artificial toe joint. I went from barely being able to walk to running around town. Recently I saw Jim for a compression in my spine. I was in terrible pain and Jim did everything possible to help me through this problem. The dry needling really helped the elbow pain that was radiating from my neck. I'm so grateful to have Jim as my PT when needed. I would recommend him to anyone. He is awesome!

Jim is hands-down the best PT I've ever worked with. I came in on an emergency-basis to treat some nerve pain and the table-work and exercises we went through worked absolute miracles! The nerve pain subsided and I've continued to work with him on a longer-term running injury that is likely related to the nerve pain. I have full confidence the work we're doing will get me where I want to be (full recovery) and I've seen massive improvement already in just a few weeks. On a separate note, Jim is an excellent communicator and I feel like he's actually listening to me. That has not always been my experience at other practices, and it's something I value. He's also just a fun person to be around, and that makes going in so much easier!

Jim is awesome! I worked with Jim on recovering from a dislocated kneecap. Jim taught me some great exercises to relieve tightness and strengthen muscles, advised me on incorporating these exercises into my daily routine, and informed me of what to expect as I was recovering. Jim is also great to chat with and I really enjoyed the sessions. I would highly recommend that anyone with knee issues see Jim.

I had never been to a Physical Therapist before and always just dealt with the pain I was having. Until my boss gave me a gift card to see Jim. Jim is awesome and has so much knowledge of the human body and does a great job in explaining to his clients how/why things are going on and how to improve symptoms. Not to mention his vast knowledge of cupping, dry needling and stretching that he has done for me. I have been seeing Jim for a couple months now and everyday I am feeling better and better. Top notch treatment is what you will receive at Heafner Health.

Jim is an excellent physical therapist. His attention to detail and level of expertise is well worth the trip to Boulder. Jim has taught me proper abdominal bracing and breathing which I thought I knew from years of strength training. His cues and exercises have been game changers for my lower back, posture and future strength endeavors. All of this after only 2 sessions.

After being in three rear end car accidents within six months, the last of which totaled my car, I sought out the help of Dr. Heafner to work on my left shoulder and back pain from whiplash. I had not had great results working with physical therapists in the past, but needed to see what to do about long-term recovery since chiropractic and massage were only temporary relief, and my normal activity was affected. I found Jim’s approach to be impressively holistic and effective immediately. He spent time each appointment evaluating the overall state of my injuries and then adapting and building his approach. When an approach didn’t work he didn’t try again but respected my bodies reaction. The exercises we incorporated and the hands on work we did during appointments were focused on retraining my body after the repeated trauma. Not only was it quickly effective and has lasted long-term, but I keep it in mind everyday and better understand my body and how to help myself create healthy patterns within my muscles and ligaments. Jim is a sincere and kind doctor with great intuition and care. I never questioned that he had my best interests in mind and that he was setting me up for recovering from my injuries long-term without the need of his help or any other practitioner. I am very grateful to Jim and I recommend him to everyone in my life who is experiencing pain.

Prepare to be impressed! I threw my back out over a weekend during a workout and when I called for an appointment, Jim immediately recommended manageable stretches I could practice until I was able to see him which helped me get moving. During my visit, he was incredibly thorough and observant to understand how my injury occurred, what on going exercises I could do for prevention and shared so much knowledge with me. Jim’s passion and competency shine through - it’s easily evident how much he cares and is incredibly easy to work with. He’s friendly, attentively listens and is invested in your health and movement. I felt so informed leaving my visit and with a significant improvement in mobility and decreased pain. I highly recommend a visit for minimal or severe concerns!! Thanks Jim!
