I only gave it one star because I couldn’t post it if I had none. I made the mistake of putting my father in this institution. The first day I went there, he was in a room with 3 other residents. It looked like they just took him off the ambulance and threw him in the bed and walked away. I should have followed my first instinct and took him out of there. But, after spending a considerable amount of time on the phone with a case manager, I decided to give them a chance - big mistake! My father spent most of his time there sedated. He had vascular dementia as a result of a stroke and at times could be difficult, but I just think they drugged him night and day so they didn’t have to deal with him. Anytime I asked the short female doctor how he was doing she said great and he was eating well. That was a lie. They weren’t feeding him. The day I took him out of there a nurse ran to my car with his insulin pen and told me to get him some food because he hadn’t eaten that day. That was at 12:00 p.m. Three days after I moved him from Harbor Village to a better, local nursing facility, he was brought to the hospital with abnormal lab results. The hospital told me that labs had been run at Harbor Village the week prior showing abnormalities and nothing had been done to address this. When I saw my father that night at the hospital with no clothes on, he was skin and bones. His condition was listed as “failure to thrive”. We tried to put the feeding tube that was removed at Harbor Village back in to feed him and hopefully turn what was a dire situation around, but it did no good. My father passed away three weeks later. Please DO NOT put your loved ones in this horrific place. And if they are already there get them out. And believe everything they tell you is happening to them there. Don’t live with the regrets I live with for putting him there and not realizing what was happening until it was too late. Harbor Village should be shut down by the State!

Tried to discourage us from taking my mother to the hospital . Worst facility you could ever send a relative to. My mother had Mrsa pneumonia and nursing told me and the rest of to e family she’s fine. Luckily we didn’t listen and persistent that she go to the hospital because we knew she wasn’t acting like herself. Nursing doesn’t care about the patients ..

I can't say enough things about the Therapy Dept/gym at Harbor Village North. MICO and Beth were dynamite therapists. I improved in such a positive direction with their therapy.. The staff here were spot on for their positions. One Aide especially was outstanding. This was Rhoda. From day 1 she gave e me a warm welcome to Harbor. She was fast and so efficient. I have nothing but praise for the staff here.

Horrible food , I was there recovering from paralysis in 2017, they didn't give me antibiotics for a week after severing a dental nerve in 2 places, unfortunately most of the staff does not speak English as a first language , to shut up the aides who spoke Haitian , i simply said sprechen sie deutsch which means do you speak German. On night shift, half the employees are asleep, if your kids put you there, write them out of their wills.

2/21/24 My dad fell there 3 times due to lack of attention and staffing. Nursing staff had no knowledge of my father's health or mental condition. Nor did they take the time to review his chart. There are too many misfortunes my dad endured to get into. If you value the life, welfare and integrity of your loved one, DO NOT PUT THEM IN THIS PLACE. IT'S A DEATH TRAP!!!!!! I stand by my claim, no matter what the Dir. of Nursing says. He has to put in a good review, he WORKS THERE, Duh

My brother in law was here prior to his passing and the staff is amazing. They took great care in his every need and if we had any concerns they were right on it. I started taking our dog Duke when he was 4 months old prior to him becoming a therapy dog and they instantly feel in love with him and also the other residents. They asked if we would keep bringing him, even after my brother -in- law passed and with their help Duke became a registered therapy dog and we have been going ever since. This facilty and their staff are considered my second family. If you want great care and a loving staff and also some heroes this is where you need to be.

I came here a month after my gallbladder removal surgery I wasn’t able to walk I as of today I’m am able to walk. Fresh off the cane. Don’t get me wrong I went from wheel chair in a 2 week to walker for 6 weeks and a cane for all this months these I found a friends here that also got me through some really frustrating time. They have good activities to get your mind off things and focus on other things. It’s a good distraction from the stress plus with me being so hard on my self pushing for perfection. I’m human nobody’s perfect so just do your best and the results will fall into place
