I had a disappointing experience with this therapist. While she’s young and initially appeared kind and friendly, much of it felt like surface-level chitchat to appear approachable. However, her behavior shifted drastically when my insurance situation changed. I felt harassed with constant follow-ups about payments, mostly via text message, because her website was never functional. This lack of professional infrastructure blurred boundaries and made the entire experience feel unprofessional and uncomfortable. One of the most frustrating moments was when she scheduled me to come in at 11:30 a.m. between appointments, only to attempt to charge me in the hallway instead of inviting me into her office. When I expressed my discomfort, she only allowed me into the office after realizing her next patient hadn’t arrived yet. The entire situation felt dismissive and awkward, as though my presence wasn’t worth the basic respect of a professional interaction. As a Black man in Denver, where the population is overwhelmingly white, I also couldn’t help but feel that my race may have influenced how I was treated. It’s disheartening to experience what felt like judgment and a lack of understanding when navigating something as critical as healthcare. To make matters worse, when I asked her for a referral to another doctor—given that she had been treating my mallet finger for months—she told me she doesn’t give referrals and only refers people to herself. This was shocking and unprofessional, especially since she knew my specific case and could have directed me to someone better equipped. While she may seem accommodating at first, my overall experience left me feeling disrespected and undervalued. I wouldn’t recommend this practice to anyone that has dark skin that is seeking reliable care.

I saw Emily a few times for extreme hand pain I was experiencing: a few fingers locking up, really annoying aches, randomly dropping items I was holding. Not only is she a friend, but she is extremely professional and through her sessions and advice I haven’t had nearly the pain I had before! She recommended home stretches, switching up how I hold my phone, taking breaks from using high vibration equipment when I noticed my grip failing. All things that helped me live my day to day more comfortably. Couldn’t recommend her more!

I had hurt my shoulder a couple of years prior playing baseball and hadn't been able to throw anything during that time. Emily was able to get my arm feeling better within a few months and I haven't had any major pain since. I highly recommend her to anyone needing physical therapy for arm related injuries!

Emily rocks. She provided compassionate and unbelievably effective care, helping me heal my TFCC injury and understand the mechanics throughout the process. I could not recommend her more highly and constantly wish that more providers were like Emily!

Emily is the GREATEST, most genuine human ever! I came in thinking I sprained my wrist from a bouldering incident but discovered it was something else. She's super knowledgeable, personable and was able to get me back on the wall. Highly recommend seeing Emily for any climbing injury rehab!!

Emily is the best hand therapist I’ve ever had, the only one able to actually make a difference on my forearm when others told me it was a lost cause or needed surgery.

Emily is a pro. Very personable and knows her stuff. I’ve had trigger thumb for years not knowing what it was. She caught it immediately and improved my grip strength by 10+ lbs in the first session.. I also mentioned a shoulder pain that I had for years. After pointing out some muscular differences from right to left, and understanding how my shoulder sits, she did trigger point therapy, used dynamic tape and sent me home with some exercises. With the dynamic tape, my shoulder hasn’t felt this pain free in years. I have been going to Emily for the last 6months and will continue for the foreseeable future!

Emily was fantastic in her care of my injury. She diagnosed my injury and laid out a treatment plan in the initial visit. She was very accommodating to my needs and schedule throughout the process. I thought it would be a long time without climbing, but Emily was able to get me back on rock after our first visit. I recommend all my climbing friends go to Emily if they have any finger pain. She knows her stuff and is always trying new things to make the process easier for her clients. 10/10 recommend.
