****UPDATE: 11-27-2024**** *****I received a letter from a company that Gulf Orthopaedics uses that handles our most personal information. They had a data breach earlier this year and now a hacker has our personal information. Gulf did not have the decency to inform us of this breach by a company they choose. Way to go!!!****** I had surgery shoulder surgery on December 14, 2020. I woke up in recovery with ungodly pain. The nurses did a great job getting the pain under control before discharging me. Fast forward to Friday the 18th, I left two messages to have my pain medication filled before the weekend since I would run out. It is Monday the 21st and still nothing about having my pain medication refilled. I guess patients being in pain is amusement for some on my doctor's staff. In 2012 I would have happily recommended Bayside Orthopaedics to anyone. Oh yeah, when I had my first shoulder surgery back in May it took ten days for me to get my first prescription for pain medication filled. As of 2020, I will not ever recommend anyone use Bayside Orthopaedics until a patient's care actually means something again. If I could have given less than one star I would have! UPDATE: 12/31/2020 Bayside Orthopaedic without my permission gave a third party my personal and medical information and this company wants $30 to fill out a form that would have taken my doctor 2-3 minutes to complete. Not only that this PPW was supposed to be completed within a couple of days after surgery and they give it to this third party company two weeks and two days after surgery. This is it for me with this practice!!!!! UPDATE 2022: The doctor at Bayside wanted to put me in a pain management clinic instead of having an MRI done due to severe pain after 2nd should surgery. I found a new doctor that ordered an MRI and it was found the tendon never adhered to the bone. Third shoulder surgery was performed by new orthopaedic surgeon and my shoulder is doing better, imagine that. I will NEVER set foot in Bayside again!!!

The doctors and their techs are fabulous. The women operating the reception desk are rude and gossip about other employees at levels easily heard from the waiting area. If it was once I'd ignore it, but this is my third visit here with the same experience by the same persons. I would rate this clinic a 5 otherwise. And if I were the office manager they'd get a warning followed by "service no longer required."

The receptionist is so friendly and welcoming, wait time is minimal and Dr. Savage is a caring, brilliant physician. He listens and offers ideas for treatment. I’ve never had a better experience! Definitely worth the drive from Mobile.

I am blessed to have Dr. Savage as my doctor. Two months ago, he did a hip replacement on me that has turned my life around for the better. I am a person who asks a lot of questions and he patiently responded to all of them in great detail before the surgery and after. As a result I had total trust he would do a great job. His knowledge and expertise was obvious and I will always be very grateful to him for helping me.

Dr. Detterman is by far the best doctor I have ever been to. He is very professional and makes my situation easy to understand. He always makes me feel at ease, and thoroughly explains what is wrong and what needs to be done to make me better. His bedside manner and sense of humor is a big plus and hard to find in a doctor. Would highly recommend him.

Dr. Albert Savage is OUTSTANDING! Probably the best doctor I’ve ever seen. He’s extremely knowledgeable and he does not rush the appointment. Really takes the time to help you. He’s been helpful regarding knees and hips. The office does their own x-rays and typically has you do them the same day you see the dr but before the appointment. 100% worth the wait. It can take 1-2 months to get an appointment. Once you get an appointment you can call back and see if another day earlier opened up.

It is what you hope for and need. Brief wait- they respect your time, friendly staff from reception, to Nurses, Drs and Check Out. Dr Carter is exceptionally skilled, offering specific diagnosis and very insightful guidance, all in a professionally positive demeanor. I cannot say enough good things regarding my multiple different appointments. I highly endorse.

First time with Dr. Determann and I was very impressed. He was was thorough in his assessment, listened well and I left with a good care plan for my knee pain. I worked 30 years in the medical industry with Doctors and Medical Professionals. I wish they all worked this way but experience tells us otherwise. I would certainly recommend him.
