Dr. Ross and the entire staff at GLVH take the utmost care in my (6!) pets. While all veterinary hospitals are overwhelmed right now due to the fact that there are literally WAY more pets to veterinary professionals in the world (look up the statistics - it’s quite frightening, really!) they are always willing to stay late or find the time when I need them. I honestly don’t know what I would do, or where my pets would be, without them! Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for all that you do! Highly recommend!!!

Yesterday, my ex husband and daughters, were there because their belove beagle Ben was not doing well. Ben has had some health issues and a senior dog. I am not sure which Dr was providing care, but I wanted to thank you for explaining everything to my daughters. They rescued Ben and his brother Rusty (who also passed with your assistance). I spoke to them before they went to the appointment and explained that they may need to make a difficult decision, but a very human one. Ben, was my youngest dog, came home to explained everything. She appreciated that you offered options but also expressed what you would do if he was your pet. She stayed with him as he crossed the rainbow bridge, never an easy task no matter how many times. Again, thank you very much. Cori Miller

In the 6 years I have been taking my pets to this vet, I’m always sure they have my three dogs best interest at heart. They have always been kind, respectful and always give me treatment options without making me feel guilty when the cost is greater than I expect. They have, on many occasions, fit me in for an emergency, and I’ve had a few. They always return my calls/ texts. I love the text feature btw. Absolutely the best. I have nothing but good things to say. There is no question that they care about what they do.

The vets and staff at groton ledyard are beyond the best. They have always gone above and beyond for both of my dogs anytime they have needed anything over the years. multiple occasions my dogs have needed to be seen for an emergency and they have always gotten us right in and have great communication with you. Leaving your dogs at the vet is always scary but with them I always leave feeling confident they are in great hands and will be taken care of and it makes it that much easier as a pet parent to leave them. I will never be able to thank them enough for all they do but there is no doubt they are the best vet staff around.

Couldn't make my appointment due to horrible storms. Dangerous road conditions and very unsafe. Coupled with the fact that I did not want to traumatize my ill cat. I tried to reschedule and they said ok and then said no. Took my security deposit. Clearly this vet is about money not clients or wellness of animals. If they treat a first time client this way, I would hate to see how they are all the time. AWFUL experience. Shame on them

I brought my cat, Winston, to Dr. Heather Cardoza for a bad ear infection and we were treated kindly and professionally. Winston's ears are now clear of infection and I feel he will be in good hand in the future.

I was really happy with Groton Ledyard when I moved here in 2019. COVID made things difficult in 2020, but we prevailed through. However, I saw a decline in their service as time went on. Now it's 2022 and I'm finally allowed back in the exam room with my dog, and I can see they haven't cleaned the rooms since 2020. My dog went in for an injured paw in 2021 and came out with kennel cough. She's not around other dogs and she was 15 at the time. Props to them for getting her in ASAP due to her old age, but they agreed she probably got kennel cough there, and still had me pay for the emergent visit and medication. My neighbor uses the same vet. His elderly dog went in for a check-up and came back with a cold (not kennel cough, but a cough, nonetheless). The cleanliness here is clearly not up to par. The last straw was when I took my dog in for an emergent visit because she pulled a muscle in her neck and she couldn't turn her head to the right, and thus could not walk straight. Of course the rush of adrenaline she got at the vet masked her symptoms. The (new) vet watched one second of the video I showed her and checked my dog for an ear infection. She would not listen to anything I said, including when I tried to describe when the symptoms started. She offered to do bloodwork, and I asked her to check the last time my dog had bloodwork done. They then took my dog in the back to "have another doctor look at her" and drew blood anyway, without my consent. The doctor then told me my dog was not in pain. I played her a video of my dog whimpering in pain the previous night, which she did not listen to, because it wasn't captured in the first half second of the video. That night I sent a video of my dog crying in pain and sent it to the office. They never responded. One would think an office that cared about animals would respond and try to make things right. These people may have cared about animals a few years ago, but something changed in the last two years. I highly, highly recommend against this place now. Dr. Ross was great, and maybe she still is (I did not see her on our last visit). But if you get any other doctor, run.

Over the last 3 years I have brought four of my animals here for routine checkups and emergencies. 2 are dead right after leaving the practice . Today I brought my dog in for some diarrhea and vomiting. I was sure they would give him at least fluids since he’s a little dog. But no. They sent him home after doing tests with probiotics and said he just had an upset stomach . He died in my arms 2 hours later. I called them and they said if I bring back the medication today ( I asked them if I can come tomorrow as I’m currently grieving and making arrangements and they said no) they can refund me for the medications….. the money was the last thing on my mind and didn’t go bring it back . 2 years ago I spend thousands of dollars at GLV on a cat we rescued and he died in my arms from Kidney failure after they sent him home for the weekend. Never brining another animal back here.
