Griffin Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation - Derby

I went into back therapy at Griffin Hospital not expecting much since my back has hurt me for various reasons for over ten (10) years. My therapists Justin and Mark were absolutely thorough on understanding my needs and showing me the correct exercises to relieve my pain. They were not only an absolute joy to be with but sincerely concerned about my health and me personally. Don’t get me wrong; they worked me for a straight thirty minutes but we enjoyed each other while doing the exercises and stretching. I walked away from each session feeling more ch better than when I arrived. Thank you Justin and Mark for your sincere concern for my well being.

The physical therapist themselves are very respectful, professional, and caring the place just lacks our communication with each other because they will drop you from therapy out of lack of communication with each other. Can’t explain why you got dropped only to say that they understand the frustration and they know there’s a lack of communication, but they do nothing about it, this is an in-house problem amongst themselves and are paying for it out of pocket or loss of therapy that they really need it FYI, I would not recommend anyone to this office until they fix the house, Restructuring just fine !!

Dr. Tuschhoff was a consummate professional. At all times he communicated both the short-term and long-term purpose of my physical therapy. Moreover, he wasn't afraid to challenge my skill set when the work appeared to have become too easy for me. Awesome guy.

I would highly recommend Maia Demirs OT as your personal therapist, associated with Griffin Hospital in Derby CT.She was such a a help to me. She was caring, personable, and very knowledgeable in her field. She was a pleasure to work with!.

Having a physical therapist who truly listens, cares and has patience is key to a positive recovery. I was very fortunate to get the best one for my 35 sessions. I am in a much better state of health due to the therapy I received from Justin T. He is very knowledgeable and seeks out ways to find helpful solutions. I have had other pt’s in the past and they did absolutely nothing to help me in my condition. They followed a PT guru who wrote a book and they used only his information which is obviously a lazy way out. For no one book of instruction can address the many people who have multiple issues needing treatment. I definitely recommend physical therapy at the Derby facility of Griffin Health- most of the therapists that I have observed there appear to be invested in the patients they work with. I however feel that I truly had the best therapist and that is why I am feeling so much better.

I just wanted to share my experience with Griffin rehab. I had the pleasure of working with Arthur Estrada and Mark. Both of them were exceptional at pushing me and giving me things to do at home so that I could keep the movement going. I would highly recommend the Griffin rehabilitation facility to anyone who needs any kind of help after an operation, it was close for me and both men were exceptional. The staff at the office is wonderful. Also, the ladies help me change appointments and move them when I ended up with the last-minute scheduling problem and I appreciate all that help. I just want to say thank you to everyone for helping me get back on my feet And moving in the right direction

I worked with Art and his intern Jack for the 8 week period following hip replacement surgery, 2X a week, 30-40 minute sessions. I was impressed by the professionalism and compassion of both therapists and the office staff who scheduled and re-scheduled appointments as necessary. Before surgery I worked with Art as well, to manage my hip pain and to maintain movement as much as was possible; this is what kept whatever strength I could in the core muscles. I was taught any modifications necessary to keep me as active as possible, in advance of the surgery. I owe very much of my success in complete recovery to the wonderful PT team at Griffin. My experience with Griffin Rehab was fantastic. The people on the registration desk were so friendly and made it so easy selecting an appointment schedule that worked for me. For my physical therapy to recover from Tendanitis on my right Foot/Leg I worked with Brianna, Justin and Mark and they were all Fantastic, Great attitudes and they really know their stuff. They document every thing we work on on a mobile workstation down to my seat adjustment on the bike so no matter who I worked with on a particular session they know exactly what I did last session. I highly recommend them, they did a Great job getting me healthy again. Griffin Rehab is fantastic!
