Kaiwe Goo is the best physical therapist I've ever had. She is kind, patient, gentle and very knowledgable. She explains what's going on with my neck and shoulder, using models if necessary, so I can visualize what is happening when she's working and when I'm doing my exercises at home. I have an Rx for a degenerative vertebra in my neck that moves too much when I bend my neck. If the movement increases, I'll need surgery or risk paralysis. The neck issue was exacerbated by a shoulder injury from a 50 foot tumble down a steep hillside near my home in 2012. For my second session, she used her hands to stretch the muscles in my shoulder and rib cage to relieve the tension in my neck Both have become extremely tight since my shoulder joint was replaced in 2012. Right away, I could feel the difference and my range of motion improved. Kaiwe gives me 2-4 exercises to do at home after each session. They are simple and relatively easy to do, which means I actually do them. Her partner is not 'in-network' with my particular insurance carrier, Blue Shield of California, but neither are my chiropractor, accupuncturist or massage therapist. So far, I've found her work to be the most effective of all of them, so she's well worth the cost.
