I regret agreeing to occupational therapy and should have pushed harder for sports PT after I repeatedly stressed my wrist and shoulder climbing. Yes, I learned how to pay close attention to ergonomics during everyday life to ensure it doesn’t further atrophy, but it didn’t help my healing process. After the second session I realized I wanted more targeted wrist exercises, but they still had me do generic exercises and they didn’t provide me any progression suggestions until my last session. When my allotted sessions were up (5 sessions within 1 month), even though I didn’t feel any improvement they told me to continue the exercises on my own. Worst of all, they told me I “probably had tendonitis”, which after going to another therapist they told me that I’d be in much more pain in certain pressed positions if I had tendonitis. I thought my injury would never recover, but after seeing another PT, I am climbing pain free after three months. If you have a specific sports goal and you can afford it, go to a specialist (example climbing PT) instead. They’ll get you there faster and stronger than before. Here, you’ll get rotated between therapists and be given generic exercises. Climbers beware.

Pain management specialist yet won't prescribe stronger pain meds for someone that needs back surgery. 18 ibuprofen a day doesn't even touch the pain while I'm at work. Very disappointed and LIMP through the day with sciatica and the pain down my left side is excruciating.

Physical Therapy is grueling! I’m so thankful that Jill and Mary Ann push me to go that extra mile. They really do care and I’m grateful for that! Highly recommended.
