TLDR: I love this place and didn't have a single bad experience. Can't recommend the folks in this office highly enough. Eizelle, Danielle, Crystal, and Kelly are amazing. It's not my style to shut up and listen, but with these folks I just did the work they told me to, even though it was hard/long, and my hand is as close to 100% as I could have hoped only 5w later. Longer: I'm so grateful I was lucky enough to get paired with GGHT for my rehab. I broke my hand (5th metacarpal fracture, pinky knuckle) and received surgery elsewhere, where I had metal pins installed in my hand for 5w while the bone healed. After the pins came out I was terrified: I couldn't move that portion of my hand whatsoever. I worked with Eizelle, Danielle, and Crystal (in that order), and I loved every single one of them and couldn't be happier with my result. I met with Eizelle the day after my pins came out, and she not only reassured me that what I was experiencing was normal, but also helped me create a plan to regain mobility. She's great to talk to and gave me clear instructions. Within days I was already seeing significant improvement. I'm sad I didn't get to work with her more. Eventually I had a couple appointments with Danielle (you'll likely rotate between folks based on availability, as this office is in great demand). She took great care of me, educated me about my injury, and may be one of the friendliest people I've ever met. One of my final appointments was with Crystal: surprise, she's also fantastic. While you're in the office you'll do a mix of working on your hand and chatting to whoever you're with. Crystal is very experienced, will make you comfortable, and provide you great care for your hand. Lastly, Kelly was a key part of the equation. She was responsible for setting up my appointments, was transparent about availability, and gave me options for as flexible as GGHT can be (they're booked weeks out not only because there's few providers like this but also because their care is exceptional). She's incredibly kind. After spending 20-30m 3-4 times a day at home doing PT exercise (which I know sounds like a lot, but I cared about getting better and nobody else could put in the work for me), I was making immense mobility strides within days. After 3w my mobility was back to mostly normal but my strength was still lacking. At about 4w+ post-op my hand surgeon cleared me to stop PT and get back into light exercise. I'm 5w out now and strength is coming back quickly with gym/other. I'm sad I won't see these folks often anymore, but I've been incredibly fortunate to have landed in their care. If something happens with one of my hands again the future I will definitely return to this office. Thank you all so much for helping me.

Danielle I was so thorough, very interested in actually understanding my injuries fully, developed a great treatment for both injuries and is fun to talk to. Staff is incredible at scheduling and the organization is just ultra buttoned down and professional. I can’t believe anyone would give them fewer than 5 stars. What do they expect, medical miracles? This group probably accelerated my healing process from some pretty serious arm and elbow issues by at least a month. Maybe more. I finally have hope I’ll be headed in the near term and for someone who relies on sports and adrenaline activities to cope with stress, this is a huge deal to be out of commission like this. Not fun! Can’t say enough. If going there every day was an option and medically viable, I’d do it. Can’t say enough.

Golden Gate Hand Therapy is an efficient and warm environment overall, but I am posting this review specifically for Annie because I feel like she saved my hands. The advice she gave me was so incremental in helping me navigate my injury and keep working while I healed and she always gave me top notch care. Writing this review feels like a small appreciation of the support she gave me.

I started coming to Golden Gate Hand Therapy in June to treat a hyper-extended pinky finger. My GP originally told me my hand would heal on its own, but he was totally wrong! When I realized something was wrong, I ended up at GGHT and I'm so happy I came here. It's a small office but they have set it up well, so it never feels cramped. I've worked with nearly all of the therapists, and they are all great. Every time I come in they remember me, and they do a really thorough job of keeping notes on my progress and referring back to them. They have a lot of different equipment for the various injuries that can affect peoples' hands and arms, and I'm impressed by how comprehensive they get -- not just helping me get my finger back to a straight position, but also building back muscles. Most importantly they're all very warm, incredibly positive and encouraging about my progress.

Golden Gate Hand Therapy is simply the best for hand and elbow physical therapy out there. Melanie, Grace, Mary, and all the rest helped me recover far past what I and my doctor expected, and became like family to me over the past 2 years. I had a severe elbow break in a July 2016 bike accident (tire stuck in cable car tracks) - a terrible triad plus torn ligaments on both sides. I ended up going through a first surgery to fix the bones, a second to do a manipulation under anesthesia, and a third to clean out scar tissue. I went to GG Hand Therapy for physical therapy 3x/week for the first 6 months, then 2x/week for the next 6, then 1x/week for the next 6, and finally 1x/2 weeks for the final 6. That long of a recovery wouldn't have been easy had it not been for all of them. They were all thoughtful, caring, and well trained in helping me get back to health. The open office layout also meant that you got to interact with all of them, which made it a pleasure to go instead of a chore. Highly highly recommend for any finger, hand, or elbow physical therapy you need done. Thanks team!

Went to Golden Gate for an injury to my finger for about 6 visits. We went over 3 exercises on my first visit, a fourth on my second visit, then that was it. I would return, pay my co-pay, then get the same routine each visit; warm wax, heat pad for 10 minutes while therapist leaves you alone to complete charting or grab a snack (yes, they have food in the treatment area), then ultrasound for 3 minutes, same exercises as before, end. There are no room dividers in this small, shared space, so you will have the opportunity to hear how all of the other patients were injured and how they are (or aren’t) progressing, just as they will hear all about you. You will see a different therapist every time. Some will measure your progress, others are indifferent until you ask them for specific measurements to track your own progress. At my fourth session one therapist seemed surprised to hear I had not yet begun using putty for strengthening exercises. I work in a hospital, around other therapists, and asked one where I could purchase this stuff. She responded by laughing and asking why it had not been provided by my therapist. At the beginning of my final visit I was told I would not need further therapy. Toward the end, she reversed course and asked me to return for one additional visit “just to check on progress.” All of this I can live with. However, what prompted this review is my interaction with the owner today. I received a bill today claiming I did not make two copays. No worried, mistakes happen, I have receipts. However, there was also a bill for $75 for a missed office visit. I call and explain that on the day in question I had woken at 2 am with a fever, vomiting, abdominal pain and diarrhea (we would later learn I was a victim of the Camp Mather norovirus). I called out from work (for the 4th time since 1995) and then made two attempts to cancel my 3 pm appointment. At 9:11 am I called and left a voicemail explaining I was ill. At 1:18 pm I called again and left another unreturned voicemail. I go back for another visit a week later and apologize for being too ill to arrive, and there is no mention of the impending cancellation fee. When I explain this to the owner she says that she runs a business and needs to be strict with her cancellation policy and will only consider bending the rule if you are in the emergency room or for a death in the family. I was very specific in asking if she would prefer I drag myself into the clinic and risk infecting everyone else. After skirting around the question a bit, she simply stated “Yes”! So there you have it. If you want to support a practice that prioritizes turning a profit from your visit over keeping an infectious disease out of their office and away from their employees and other patients, then Golden Gate Hand Therapy is for you!

AVOID THIS PLACE. similar situation posted in google review before. I just wish I had read it before I went. Appointmnt was scheduled at 11am but they called and wanted to charged me $75 cancellation fees at 10:30am the day before. Yes it’s still more than 24 hours, and also I called the day before couple times trying to cancel but no one picked up the phone, but they don’t care, they just want to charge $75 cancellation fee. When I pointed out it’s still more than 24 hours, they hang up the phone and not call back, so I called back and the receptionist was extremely impatient and yelled at me that they normally do NOT have appointment confirmation or reminder. That’s right, no confirmation no text no email no call no nothing. If you make an appointment, make sure you know it and don’t forget because they will wait til the last minute to call you and tell you a 24 hour cancellation policy and charged you $75. I guess I was lucky this receptionist doesn’t know how to count and call me 30 minutes early and that I noticed it. By the way, I don’t think their therapy is helpful and that’s why I want to cancel in the first place. What happened next confirm my decision. To respond to your response: “This is ONLY a courtesy call, we generally don’t call our patient to remind…” is the exact words I heard from the receptionist. And from my last and only visit, there was NO any form of reminder that was sent to me.

They are the best! I can't imagine my recovery without them. All staffs are kind and caring. I know they are so busy but they do their best to accommodate their clients! Thank you!
