Gilroy Health Care Nursing Home has truly exceeded our expectations. Not only do they have a wonderful activities staff who organized a memorable Father’s Day Western-themed BBQ candlelight dinner, but the facility itself is impeccably clean and well-maintained. The memory unit, where my grandfather resides, is specifically tailored to meet his needs with a comforting environment and specialized care. We are deeply grateful for the attentive staff who ensure he feels safe and cared for at all times. Choosing Gilroy Health Care Nursing Home has been one of the best decisions for our family.

The hardest thing we’ve had to do was to make the decision to put our Mother into memory care. At that time, 6 years ago this November, we were not happy with care, cleanliness and interactions with the Director and some of the staff. When we walked down the halls back then and until approximately 2021, the facility was not to standards, it smelled of urine and other odors. As far as I was concerned, it was understaffed and the staff was more than likely under payed. Being a business owner at one time, I understood what was, I believe, driven by the almighty dollar. I even saw some of their employees working double shifts and patient to caregiver ratios were horrible! We are actively involved in seeing our Mother and made complaints then to the proper departments and authorities . Now, around 2021, we absolutely noticed a change. There was a new Director who I immediately introduced myself to and felt this young man’s compassion and commitment immediately. His name is Nelson Rubio. Not only did the facility undergo a facelift, new floors, paint etc but more importantly more staff to provide the care our precious Mother and so many others who are there needed! The activities, physical therapy if needed , etc are being provided. I know now that our concerns are being addressed . I attribute this to their Director. He is an amazing, hardworking young man that puts his patients and staff first so our family members get the concern and care they deserve. I can say without reservation I am extremely happy our Mother is at this facility. Our Mother, though she has dementia is doing well. I want to thank Mr. Rubio, the nurses and staff for remembering that the patients are someone’s family and for treating them like they are theirs. Mom will be 91 in November and doing well.

Great caring staff. All CNA's were very caring and always treated my dad with respect. The physical therapist always I encouraged my dad to participate and would always accommodate to his needs.

Avoid if you can. Lots of empty beds here. My father’s roommate says he sees demons and dark shadows here. Good luck finding parking between 9am-5pm bc their own staff hog over half of spaces, forcing visitors and family members who are paying the facility to care for their loved one (mostly older/elderly) to park in the street and walk. There are 3 disability spots and maybe 30 spaces total. There are even designated parking spaces for their employees/directors that take up 4 spaces. Anything marked as visitor parking is parked in by either staff or visitors/family (usually staff park there so they can sit in their cars during their breaks while visitors and family have to walk). My father requires custodial and home care and has had multiple UTIs while housed here in the last 7 weeks. Doctors kept him on antibiotics for 5 of those weeks and my elderly father has likely developed antimicrobial resistance (AMR) by now. Some of the staff are great but most do the bare minimum. Get all your agreements on paper. Check your invoices from them. This is the most expensive option in Gilroy and it is the lowest in quality. Good luck.

Very clean and welcoming environment where the staff was very friendly and were able to make my grandmother feel safe and taken care of. I would highly recommend this facility!

Hello, I recently had my grandma admitted at Gilroy healthcare and rehab and everyone was amazing, love, caring, and very passionate of helping all the patients. I like to say Sandra L. Is a great person who help me and answer my questions even on weekends. I highly recommend this facility. 10/10

When looking for any care facility you think no place will ever be as good as your care. BUT this is the place . My mother Broke her hip and had the best Physical Therapist.. Paige and Lisbeth were awesome. The food was actually tasty and the facility is clean. The nursing staff and doctors all were professional and friendly .

DO NOT GO THERE! I was a patient there recovering from spinal surgery for 2 months and 12 days. During this time I was hospitalized 3 times for a total of 26 days for serious and preventable infections. I had never had a UTI before in my life until I got there. I also got c.diff. Because of me constantly being hospitalized I could never get any momentum in physical therapy. It was so disheartening having to start from square one so often. After the first hospitalization where I was unresponsive and had a 104 degree fever, my family begged me not to go back. But because of the physical therapy, which gave me hope, I decided to give them another chance. Then, back to the hospital again. And AGAIN I gave them another chance. After the 3rd time I transferred to Pacific Coast Post Acute Center in Salinas which was excellent and I was never hospitalized nor did I get any infections! Please, do NOT send your loved ones to Gilroy Healthcare and Rehabilitation!!!
