Gila Health Resources - Morenci

These people in this clinic are confused. Be careful what info you give them the mix doctors and patients up. Don’t go here for a diagnosis they will get it wrong. Went for a work injury and according to them I was fine even tho I had no movement of my thumb. Went to the VA and they X-rayed it again to find a dislocation they fixed it same day. This clinic will have you coming back over and over and over again with the same misdiagnosis. Looks like they need money. Bypass this place your better off.

I’m not from this small town so I was only going in for a physical that i needed completed for school, so I didn’t have to drive 3 hours back home and I called in advance to make sure they would be able to get me in. They told me that they were 24 hours and they would be able to get my physical done. When I arrived the nurse took me into the waiting room and took my paper back and then the physician came back and told me she was very busy because she had room full of COVID patients. I just truly didn’t understand since they agreed with me on the phone that they were able to do it. AND they are a 24 hour clinic so I know they had time. To the sounds of other reviews it just sounds like they are lazy.

I drive all the way from safford which is about 50 miles when I need medical attention. The staff has always been very kind , thoughtful & thorough. Gila Health Resources has been my only primary care provider since 2007 . I have never had the desire to go elsewhere

I was just "Googling" Gila Health Resources on the web to look up their phone number, and I noticed that supposedly the clinic is rated one star. I believe that two people are actually rating a particular doctor, Smerglia, and I don't know him. So, the Google Rating is misleading. If you notice their Facebook Rating is MUCH higher. I just wanted to say that I have lived in Morenci about one year now. My husband and I have 9 children, so we tend to be in the Gila Heath Resources Clinic often, from well child visits and camp physicals, to sicknesses and injuries. Of course I was hesitant, at first, because it looks old and dated, but the care I have received for my family has always been outstanding. All the doctors and nurses that have attended to us have always been professional and courteous, and they do a great job.

This review is based only on my recent Gila Health Resource Urgent Care visit. I arrived at approximately 4:00 a.m.on a Sunday morning thinking I had strep throat or a sinus infection. The M.A. & R.N. on duty were were very friendly and professional. If I could rate them individually I would give them a 5* review, The physician was also friendly but not thorough, in my opinion. I reminded him to check my ears and my lymph nodes. He didn’t bother to check my sinus cavity for pressure or look up my nostrils. I was fiagnosed with a virus. At this point I would have rated my care at a 3* review of the physician. Then, the physician said he wished not to offend me but, next time I should come in after 8:00 a.m.when they’re fully staffed. Apparently, heart attacks occur around the time I came and it would put a strain on staff to have to deal with my issue and a heart attack. Plus, the staff is usually sleeping at that time and was only awake due to a head injury patient that was exiting as I was going in. I felt foolish for wasting their time with a common cold. The physician exited the room without telling me I could leave so I sat waiting patiently. Approximately fifteen minutes later, the M.A. came in and told me I could leave as the system was down and I had no paperwork to sign. Well, I now have a sinus infection. Needless to say, I will avoid GHR Urgent Care for my urgent medical needs.

In a rural area, we don't have many resources. But these people are always so kind. They help you and make you as comfortable they can. And they are honest to let you know if the care you need exceeds what they can cater to.

I think they are great. So thankful to have them in our little community.
