Giant Leaps Occupational Therapy

We are so very fortunate to have found Giant Leaps for our son. We tried a few places that just didn't seem to fit. I heard from a friend what they did for her daughter and was excited to give it another try for our son. After speaking to the staff I realized we found what we was looking for. Our son meet everyone there and was very happy, but when he met Alexis he was even more happy. Alexis is very kind and compassionate and really knows her kids. You can see her passion and how much she loves what she does. She does amazing projects to help motivate our son. She has taught him so much already and he is doing so many more amazing things because of her. We are so happy to have Alexis in our corner because she only wants the best for our son. We see this every time we speak to her. I could say so many more things, but overall we are so very grateful to have found Giant Leaps and Alexis. They definitely want your child to succeed and be great in the world. They are a great team!!

From the staff to the facility itself, Giant Leaps is the premier Occupational Therapy location in Rockland County. My son has been fortunate to have Alexis as his therapist. The way she instantly connected with him was magical, and the progress he has seen under her instruction is nothing short of miraculous. Alexis really has been his angel. She's patient, kind, incredibly knowledgeable, and really goes the extra mile to keep the parents informed and empowered. I really can't stress enough how much of a positive influence she has had on my son. I would give Giant Leaps a million stars if that were possible. The gains my child has made since beginning at Giant Leaps is nothing short of amazing. After many years of trying to identify his specific areas of weaknesses and working with other facilities, therapists, and school-based programs, we have finally found a home at Giant Leaps. At Giant Leaps your child will receive a therapeutic program that is individualized to his/her needs, in a motivating, engaging and FUN way! Ironically, they are located next-door to Bounce and at a recent birthday party at Bounce, my son stated that he wished he was next-door at therapy because it is way more fun. In a few short months my son learned how to ride a bike, gained upper body strength and mobility to complete a rock wall challenge, and is now able to throw objects and hit a moving target. These are just a few of his notable gains but they are significant because these tasks were some of the most difficult for him to master and he often avoided activities with friends that required these skills. Tammy, Anthony and Alexis invest time getting to know the child to tailor the exercises and games to his or her interest. Does your child love animals? Just wait until you see the amazing animal obstacle challenge they will design. Competitive? Your child will love their challenge boards. Crafty? They have that covered too! Every day is different at Giant Leaps and if you are looking for a place where your child will make rapid progress in a fun, motivating atmosphere, then look no further.

When my son Misha began OT at Giant Leaps Occupational Therapy, nearly everything was a struggle. Everyday tasks like hair washing, getting dressed, sitting in a chair, holding a pencil, and eating dinner were challenging for him. Even fun things like playing games, building puzzles, and going to the playground usually ended in frustration. The effort involved in helping him get through the day was exhausting. Alexis ,Anthony and Tammy at Giant Leaps have patiently helped Misha become more independent, confident, and capable of expressing his needs and concerns – all while he has a fun time doing obstacle courses, crafts, and games. Alexis ,Anthony and Tammy also helped me as a parent, teaching me strategies and activities to make things easier at home. They have also been very willing to communicate with Misha’s teachers, helping them provide a more supportive environment for Misha at school. Misha is happy and enjoying himself. I am very grateful for our experience at Giant Leaps OT!!!! The best OT ever!!!!

We originally brought our son to giant leaps for some balance issues and athletic confidence and agility but we have gotten so much more. After just a couple months my almost 8 year old has participate and physical activities at school that he was previously anxious about. He can make friends with anyone in school and outside of school with random kids his age while we are on vacation. Anthony and Alexis are so attentive and nurturing and also patient with my husband and I addressing all of our concerns and taking the time to offer us solutions. I love the way anthony shows my son so much affection that clearly comforts him and Alexis engages my son with games beyond his age that I am so pleasantly surprised to see him comprehend. They have been so flexible with us, letting my younger daughter be included in some of the lessons and games and even letting me include our dog on one occasion. I really appreciate all the giant leaps team has given us. I have personally learned a few things about myself as well through some of the exercises.

I am extremely impressed with the quality of service and professionalism at Giant Leaps Occupational Therapy. The therapists who treated my child were kind, compassionate, and highly skilled. They took the time to listen to my concerns and were always patient and understanding with my child. The treatment my child received was tailored specifically to their needs, and the therapists were able to make therapy fun and engaging, which made it a positive experience for my child. I was constantly amazed by the therapist's dedication to my child's progress and their ability to adapt to my child's unique needs.

We've had just a wonderful experience with Tammy! She is uniquely experienced and knowledgeable. She is consistently creative and invested. She gives a lot of thought to our son and what he needs and is an invaluable help and resource for us.

Tammy and the whole team at Giant Leaps are very caring and will do all that’s in their power to make your kid succeed. They always go above and beyond!
