Geisinger Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital

I was in Danville Encompass for 5 days for Rehab for broken left hip. I received excellent care from all staff. Scott and James helped my ability to walk and perform daily functions. The nursing staff were very kind and helpful. My only negative which not sure if GMC policy or Encompass regarding how the patient and/or family may have to be responsible to move patient to Encompass if transportation wasn't available! The best facility and staff at all levels we have ever experienced. Professional, courteous, kind, knowledgeable; gold standard care. I would have given more stars if they were available. The staff did their jobs with a smile on their face no matter how hard the task. We were well cared for and totally satisfied. The facility is clean and beautiful and the food was excellent. Nothing to say but good words and a genuine thank you. I must mention the physicians and their attention to detail and the patient. They followed through to make sure every medical need was addressed and kept my wife informed. The resident reviewed my large medication list with my wife to insure we understood before I was discharged. We are very appreciative of the care we received.

Encompass greatly sped up my rehab following a hospital stay after a fall. They got me walking again, taught me exercises to improve my walking skills and improve my quality of life. The therapists (especially Scott) were well skilled in encouraging patient participation and teaching exercises that will help me get back to a more normal life. The facilities and equipment is kept meticulously clean. I recommend rehabbing here to anyone. The only bad thing is the food. You'd better like baked chicken breasts and green beans if you stay here. They apparently have never heard about dark meat chicken or putting tartar sauce on cod. The rotini in marinara sauce every other meal also gets old quickly.

Overall the experience was very good. For whatever reason, it took 48 hrs. to get an antibiotic for an UTI on a weekend.

My mother came to encompass health rehabilitation hospital after being hospitalized for a stroke. She was unable to walk. I cannot express how thankful I am that she came here. Everyone has been so helpful, kind, and understanding to all her issues. The therapists have been wonderful. The doctors have been very attentive to her needs. After just a few days- she will be getting released tomorrow and she is walking again. (Using a walker)- but walking. Praise God for places like this. They are THE BEST!

My father in law was at Encompass twice within the past few months. He received great care! The food was great, the staff were friendly, professional and provided great care. He successfully returned home both times and we would highly recommend Encompass to anyone needing acute rehab before returning to their home or prior place of living.

The providers and care staff at Encompass provided my Father with quality and friendly care while he rehabbed post operatively. It was a clean and easily accessible facility. Wouldn’t hesitate to trust them in caring for my loved ones.
