Dr Gabriela Van Sickle is amazing! So thorough and knowledgeable. I finally found her after seeing half a dozen other PTs who could not help me. She was actually recommended by another PT (that is how well respected she is). My problem was my knees and she has helped me back into function! My highest recommendation!

Dr. Gabriela Van Sickle is hands down the best doctor I have ever had. She is patient, kind, accommodating, and explains everything about the treatment process. She is knowledgeable about Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and has treated me through a total hysterectomy which went incredibly smooth and continues to treat all of my joints which are complicated due to hyper mobility from EDS. I have seen 6 different PT docs over the years and Dr. Gabby has provided me with an incomparably excellent quality of care.

Both Gabriella and Matt are incredible physical therapists! I've been seen by both of them in the past two years for a variety of pelvic-related pains etc. I originally started with Gabriella back in June of 2020 and have seen great progress throughout the visits. Gabriella carries forth incredible knowledge on the body as well as techniques and approaches for reducing symptoms/pain. She has also been dedicated to my specific case as a patient and is interested in working with me to better identify various pathologies that may be responsible for the chronic pain(s) so that we can treat those specific areas. We are working to hopefully get me back to 100% but I'm very satisfied with the progress we've seen thus far! Overall, I couldn't recommend a better physical therapist out there!

I visited Gabriela as my second attempt with a PT trained for the pelvic floor, and she far exceeded any of the expectations, I tried not to have! All in all we spent not much more than a couple months working together weekly, and in that time she helped me learn so many more things about pelvic floor dysfunction and the things I could do on my own time to support all the things she was doing in the sessions. Gabriela is very gifted, and so knowledgeable in her hands on, and full body approach in treating pelvic issues. I always felt like I was in good hands!! You couldn't ask for a more positive cheerleader in your corner either, she truly has patient care at heart and that shows in her therapy. I always felt better after a session with her mind, body, and soul :) Do the exercises and stretches she gives you, be an active participant in your health and Gabriela with her impressive knowledge of anatomy and the pelvic floor will journey with you to find relief! I give Gabriela and Functional Therapy 5 stars ( if there were more stars I could elect I would). Without her help I doubt I'd be 99% pain free, and on my way back to living a normal life again! Many thanks Gabriela for all you do!! Keep healing and being a shining example of what women's care should be!

I came to see Gabriella after I was given a diagnosis by a doctor for an ailment that I was told would be life changing and permanent. The first session I saw Gabriella she assured me with great confidence that what I was dealing with was a muscular/nerve issue and could be healed with hard work and persistence. It was SO reassuring. I was dealing with male pelvic pain issues. Most physical therapists don't understand it and probably have never treated men with the issue. Gabriella had training in the area and had seen many patients with my same symptoms. She was kind, welcoming, and very professional. She made it easy to talk about an awkward issue. On top of all that, she was effective. Within six sessions I was feeling 70-80 percent better. And remember when I went in to see her to first time I was in desperate, depression inducing pain. Nearly two months after our last session I'm 100 percent better and have my life back. I cannot tell you just how much Gabriella's treatment protocol did for me. It took away my pain and made me more cognizant of how I treat my body. I'm a firm believer in the power of physical therapy now. I'd recommend Functional Physical Therapy to anyone!

Over the past three months, Gaby has been the most important person in my life outside of my immediate family. That speaks volumes about the negative impact chronic pelvic pain (CPP) was having on me mentally and physically and the improvement I have made under her care. When I first met Gaby, I knew within less than a minute that I had found the right person to help me learn about and treat my symptoms. She exudes passion and confidence and it was clear that she has a thorough understanding of what her patients are experiencing and how to get them better. During our first appointment, I experienced immediate and significant relief and have progressed to the point where I feel 90% back to normal on most days and even 100% at times. In addition to periodic treatments, the key to my recovery has been working with Gaby to develop an at-home treatment plan. Like many people with CPP, I had never heard of the condition before or a pelvic floor specialist; I stumbled across this information on the Internet while trying to find a cause for my symptoms. It was a relief reading that there is a path to recovery. However, I also learned that treating CPP is intensely private and I didn’t know if I was going to be able to follow through with it. Gaby has a wonderful blog post that directly addressed my fears and apprehension (‘What to Expect with a Pelvic Health Physical Therapist’). Her words were caring and compassionate, and they put me at ease before I had even reached out to her to schedule our first appointment. I am so happy that I took the leap of faith and feel very fortunate to have met Gaby.
