First I want to say that 99% of the staff are wonderful. I understand the short staffing issues, they are happening everywhere. However, when my mother has been at this location for almost a year now, was moved from the 100 wing to the 200 wing her service has gone down hill. Especially in the evening. 2 examples are: 1 she pushes the nurse light and has to wait for sometimes an hour to use the bathroom. She them soils herself and gets scolded and told to hit her button earlier. 2 One time she hit the button and was taken to the bathroom and left there for an hour and a half. The nurse said "my shift is over and someone else be back shortly" My mother is 100% reliant on the nurses. She can not stand or walk on her own. Unexceptionable short staffed or not!

The treatment my dad received this last week at friendly village was not favorable. When he first got there, his bathroom was not clean. They were slow answering when he would push his call light and he is a FALL RISK! He got moved to this specific facility because of a breathing machine he was required to use, (a little fancier than a sleep apnea machine) none of the staff knew how to use it! He had to operate it himself. They even forgot to serve him dinner one night. I understand short staffing issues everywhere but this was just ridiculous! All around a bad experience for him. I do not recommend Friendly Village Nursing and Rehabilitation in Rhinelander for your family members.

My 93 year old mom has now been a resident of Friendly Village for almost 3 months. This is the 4th assisted living/nursing home facility that she has lived in and it is by far the best. The entire staff has been welcoming, compassionate and professional. Communication with our family is prompt, efficient and thorough. Mom is being cared for by a loving, attentive staff who have taken the time to personally get to know her and her needs. She is being encouraged to be her best self and has gained physical strength and social engagement since arriving at FV. The food is very appetizing and there are lots of "like home" sitting and meeting areas, both inside and outside, for family and visitors. The church services, choirs, special lunches and socials that are held in addition to the frequently organized games and activities make for cheerful and busy days. I feel blessed and relieved that my mom has a home in such a supportive and warmhearted environment.

Mom landed here following surgery to repair her broken arm. At 90 years old she had other considerations (macular degeneration, unsteady standing/walking) and I was unsure of what kind of a place this was and how it would go based on several other experiences with care center settings. My worries were already fading walking in the door. Many of these places have, well, an aroma about them. Not here. Even if you sniff for it. Way beyond that I have yet to encounter any staff that is anything but considerate, kind and generally in a good mood. How do you do that? Mom has had the best care I could imagine and I heartily recommend Friendly Village.

Friendly village is a wonderful facility to place your loved ones, and a wonderful place to work. The staff is always willing to help and has a smile on their face! The facility itself is very clean and has a nice home-like feel. 10/10 would recommend to friends and family.

OK everyone I’m going to start this review with like a key word and that word is apprehensive when I first got here I was apprehensive as probably anyone would be but I have to say that my experience here once you get used to it was nothing short of fantastic the staff And I do mean everyone especially the nurses and the CNA’s are caring they work very hard they have a lot to deal with and they actually care about you now it’s time for me to leave and I have to say I am apprehensive about leaving and if I should ever have to come back here I will certainly not be apprehensive bottom line 1st class place to stay and be taken care of and I also think they should rename the place and call it funny village they wouldn’t have to change their initials lol my name is William Homman

This facility has a positive, family atmosphere. The staff here put the needs of residents and their loved ones first and that is really important.
