Fox Valley Orthopedics Physical Therapy - Huntley

Update: it has now been about 6 months since my original surgery. I'm feeling even better than I was 2 months ago. I want to add, this is truly been life-changing to me. I contribute to the work around the house in a way I never could before. I can stand all evening, most nights, if I need to to get chores done. And I'm almost always comfortable. It's made a positive impact on family life. My posture is better and so is my mood. I was unable to realize how greatly I was still impacted by that mess in my ankle. And I never envisioned being back on my feet like I can be now. Thank you for being a blessing to me this last year. Thank you for helping to help mend my broken body when I had all but given up hope that anybody was going to be able to help. Now I just have a little arthritis. But I am properly back on my feet after 21 years. 💞 _--------_ It's been a real pleasure being a patient of Fox Valley Orthopedics. I had a bad situation in my ankle that I was living with for 20+ years stemming from an auto accident. My ankle had bad bone spurs, it didn't move correctly and pain had been getting worse. My surgeon, Dr. Bartel did a phenomenal job repairing my ankle. He had the skill and confidence to recommend a simpler procedure others did not afford me, that lets me keep my natural ankle for hopefully many more years. Afterward, he recommended I do physical therapy. I went here for my physical therapy because it's close to home and to stay in their practice. I've had the same physical therapist from start to finish. My physical therapist, Melissa, has been a positive, caring coach. She did a great job identifying exercises that helped improve where I was weak, and help get my ankle moving It's not going to be perfect. However, my ankle works again and I occasionally have relatively pain-free days. On my last day, I even jogged a little on the treadmill for the first time in over 21 years! Even when my arthritis is acting up, it's such a relief from what I used to live with. In my experience, everybody with Fox Valley Orthopedic is the real deal. I listen to the options presented to me and took the only one that was acceptable. I followed my surgeons instructions as best as I could, I went to every physical therapy appointment and did my best to do every exercise I was ask to do correctly. My ankles and feet are never going to be like new. I knew that when I got the referral from my doctor. That being said , my day-to-day quality of life is so much improved from where I was in July when I really started this journey. Thank you all for doing such a great job on me!
