A family member was recently in Folsom Care Center for 2 weeks and it surpassed all our expectations. It seems very well managed, and the staff were kind and caring. They were very understanding and patient with each person's unique situation and quirks. The activities are abundant, and the bird areas are very beautiful and therapeutic. The physical therapists and occupational therapists were fabulous and the physical progress that was accomplished there was amazing. And importantly, this Care Center was extremely clean.

I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Upon arrival they were trying to make my mother stay on the toilet until she pooped. She only needed to pee. When they saw me the immediately got her off the toilet. The dinner, a bowl of soup, looked like it was out of a can. Macaroni salad looked like Costcos. The sandwich was so burnt the poor girl could barely cut it up. The therapist said the neck collar was not recommend. The doctor put it on my mother, her neck pain was causing elevated heart rate. Told my daughter to get her a different walker than the doctor had recommended. The doctor had specifically said not to get because of her age. They left her in bed 90% of the day. She was there to get back on her feet after a hospital stay. My sister and I decide to just leave peacefully. When I went to check her out I asked for her medicine prescribed by the hospital. They refused to give it to me and quickly gave me a form to sign. I thought I was signing her out but actually I was signing a form stating I wasn't following doctor orders. It was my choice for her to go there in the first place what a mistake. They are not caring people they are vicious. I hope my mom doesn't have complications due to not being able to get medication until Monday as she is in the process of changing doctors. If anything happens to her I will definitely hold them responsible. I was on the phone for hours trying to resolve this. They don't answer the phone and don't call you back. What a disaster.

My Mom was a patient here for 4 weeks! In a million years I never would have expected her to be in the condition she is in currently based on her condition at Folsom Care Center when she arrived. We have had other experiences with short term rehab and this was hands down the best. She not only got good care (she was completely bedridden upon arrival) but she got therapy 10 days straight at least once a day. She continues to improve and will likely be going back to her home soon. Please note this place is older and not fancy and the meals were not appetizing for her but her Therapists were consistent and very competent which is why she is doing so well now. Thank you to all the staff from the Medical Assistants to the Management for all you did for my Mother!!!

My mom received excellent care at this facility. The people are attentive, kind and caring. It is an older facility and while it may not be as attractive as newer facilities, to us it is the quality of care that matters the most. You will not be disappointed with this excellent staff from the director of nurses to the housekeeping staff. The CNA's were a delight. My mom's injury prior to the admission and her discharge plan was stressful for me and the staff patiently worked with me to accommodate in every way possible. Great job, Folsom Care Center!

Our family had a WONDERFUL experience with Folsom Care Center. Our father had to spend two extended stays there due to falls and problems with dementia. The building is older and not as "shiny" as other centers that we initially visited. Our dad had been in the hospital prior to needing rehabilitation and more than one nurse at the hospital recommended FCC as the best place for rehabilitation due to the incredible staff. I am so glad we followed their advice. The entire staff at FCC went above and beyond to take care of our father and support our family during a difficult time when our father's dementia was progressing. We later put our father in one of the more modern and updated facilities. The staff at the updated facility did not care half as much about our father as the staff at FCC. I can't say enough good things about the angels that work at FCC. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

I recently had the opportunity to visit the Folsom Care Center. On first impression, I found the location clean, odor free and busy. With the Covid-19 isolation requirement in place, the staff was still providing resident care as their priority. One special incident I observed was a resident in distress. Spontaneously, I saw 2 Certified Nursing Assistants(CNA) come over and comfort her. They were caring, respectful and very sincere in their concern. I learned their names are Jasmine and Tera. I also saw other members of their staff respond to their patients in very much the same manner. Treating them more as family than a patient. This approach seems to exist throughout the staff here. Being one of the few family owned and operated businesses they are active in the day to day management of their care center. When the time comes and my family has to look for a place to provide care for a loved one, the Folsom Care Center will be at the top of that list.

I have personally experienced the rehabilitation portion of Folsom Care Center on two occasions. Once for 8 days after a fall breaking my upper arm and fracturing my pelvis, and once for this past month during Covid 19 isolation for a severely broken and surgically repaired femur. Staff and residents have been tested, and there are no positive cases of the virus here. However if there is, they are fully prepared to care for them in a set-up quarantine/isolation wing. I credit the skill of the therapists that I can walk again. While the care staff lovingly took care of my needs the therapists gave me the opportunity to learn how to function again through stretching and strengthening exercises, and explaining the mechanics of walking that we take for granted. I was challenged to improve each day and each day I was rewarded with first-time milestones - walking across the room with a walker, doing a heel slide, lifting my repaired leg a half inch off the floor, getting in and out of bed without assistance, putting slipper socks on, bathing myself, graduating from a commode to the toilet, and going up and down stairs with fear, sweat, and tears giving way to just sweat and pride of accomplishment. I thank everyone at Folsom Care for starting me on the road to recovery in such a family environment of care and kindness.

The Staff here is excellent but the doctor is questionable. Since we are the ones who are responsible for the care and treatment our Parents receive it is our right to question the medication changes and treatment plans identified by the doctor who makes these changes. Dr. Gutman has placed our mother on a DO NOT ACCEPT because I questioned him changing medication when he had no idea what our mother's baseline is or anything about her prior treatment before being admitted to this facility. He doesn't return phone calls to family members inquiring about these changes and has no idea how to properly write a prescription. My sister had to return to the facility on three different occasions because he could not take the time to write the prescription properly. When our parents come to need a facility such as this it is our DUTY as responsible children to question everything that is out of the ordinary and get the answers to those questions. I am also writing a letter to the State regarding this incident as I don't feel anyone else should feel they have no say in what happens to their parents once they are placed in facilities such as this. OUR PARENTS NEED US NOW MORE THAN EVER to ensure they are cared for properly.
