On the two occasions I have been to this office to see Dr. Pappou I waited for over an hour to be seen. While I understand one time two times is unacceptable for people who have full time jobs and use their lunch time to take appointments. Not sure who gets longer than an hour for a lunch break. On the second occasion, upon waiting an hour with my mother in attendance with me and arriving a few minutes early the doctor had to leave due to illness. No one informed us this occurred until the PA came in and was to me rude and had no idea my chart or information and gave poor treatment. To me I should have been given an option to reschedule and not just been given the PA without choice. Not only did this occur, I was billed and stated I was provided with a treatment plan. That was not the case at all, I was told to come back again to see the doctor. I will not be going back to this office. I will also be reaching out to my insurance company to let them know I was billed for seeing a doctor on my second appointment when I did not see him at all!

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS Institute! I initially came here back in 2018 and chose Dr. David T. Watson because he was the best of the best in Total Hip Arthroplasty Replacements. And I was right! He absolutely was!! Luckily, when I had my left hip replaced, I ended up having it replaced by a doctor in Knoxville who actually was supposed to go work with Dr. Watson, but ended up going to Tennessee instead, but Knew Dr. Watson very well and knew the practice and had been there. So, when I came back to Florida, and started having more issues with my spine progression, I went back to the Florida Orthopaedic Institute and have been seeing Dr. Hans Baez and he has been equally, phenomenal! He and Dr. Osbourne work together. Dr. Baez is so kind, caring, and empathetic. He listens to every detail, and knows all the right questions to ask. His nurses, and his staff are all amazing as well!! One of the other things I love the most about this place is the fact that they do all of their own X-rays, and MRI's. And they even have a walk-In Clinic that is open on Saturday's. It is definitely best to have appointments there for any location as it super busy all the time. But, the wait times are WELL WORTH IT! If you are having any imaging done, please do NOT wear any jewelry or body piercings AT ALL!! Take them ALL out before you go! MRI machines and technology are becoming more advanced and the magnetism is becoming more dense, which can mean more potential danger for the patient if there are any body jewelry pieces. Even if you think it's real GOLD, there may be other metals mixed in, and you may not be aware of it, such as rhodium. So please, listen to your medical staff and do NOT give them a difficult time. They are keeping you safe and alive to give you the best care possible. Thank you FLORIDA ORTHOPAEDIC INSTITUTE! YOU ALL ARE AWESOME!!!!!!

5 years ago I broke my wrist. I was referred to Florida Orthopedic Institute for treatment. I met with Dr Pappou at the first visit. At that time I was told that it was a simple break, easy to treat, and definitely would not require surgery and no physical therapy would be needed upon completion of treatment. He turned me over to Steve to have the 3 week splint applied. The splint was very uncomfortable but I had never experienced a broken bone, and didn’t know what to expect. After 3 weeks when the splint was removed, I was in shock. My hand had been moved so that it was no longer in line with my wrist. I asked to see Dr Pappou before treatment was continued. His answer was that it would need surgery either then or sometime in the next several months. I opted for later not trusting him at this point. The cast that Steve put on next, was so loose that it would slide off my arm. When I went back to see if something could be done, Steve was argumentative and replaced it with a cast so tight that I lived in pain until it came off a few weeks later. During this time he insisted that I do stretch’s with the hand, which resulted in damaging tendons because of the tightness of the cast. When the treatment was finished I just wanted to put the entire experience behind me. I am making it known now because I live in constant pain in that wrist and hand, which would have been avoided with proper treatment. I would have gone elsewhere then, but had just changed insurance companies and was limited. They have a lot of good reviews, but be aware that they do make painful mistakes.

This review is concerning the front desk staff and nurses at the Palm Harbor location. There were a number of staff who were able to see the front desk area upon my arrival. I arrived a few minutes before my requested arrival time. There was no one at the front desk, but I was in plain view of a nurse and another person who I could hear clearly discussing their children and schools for the entire time of my wait. One other nurse walked thru and clearly saw me standing and waiting. I stood there waiting to be acknowledged for 10 solid minutes, without a word from any of them. Finally someone attending the PT desk next door acknowledged me and told me that the front desk people were at lunch ame would return when finished. Then why would I be instructed to arrive at that time? Finally a front desk attendant arrived and asked my name, very curt and direct, no ‘sorry for the wait’ or ‘thank you’. The x-ray tech who welcomed me was absolutely pleasant and professional. The doctor was good, as expected. On the way out to schedule a follow up, same thing, front desk attendant was ‘in the bathroom, a solid 5 minutes before I was waited on. FOI needs to better train their staff at this location and create a more pleasant customer focused culture.

I had an incredibly frustrating experience at the Florida Orthopaedic Institute that I feel compelled to share. Despite arriving promptly for my appointment, I was left waiting in the waiting room for close to an hour. What made matters worse was that individuals who arrived after me were called back before me, leaving me bewildered and frustrated. As the minutes ticked by, I noticed the waiting room gradually emptying until I was the sole remaining patient. Yet, instead of being called back for my appointment, more patients began arriving, and to my disbelief, they were promptly ushered in for their consultations. When I expressed my concern to the staff, I was met with dismissiveness and told to continue waiting. This blatant disregard for my time and lack of professionalism from the staff at Florida Orthopaedic Institute left me feeling neglected and disrespected. It is unacceptable for a medical facility to prioritize other patients over those who have been waiting patiently. My experience reflects poorly on the institute's ability to manage appointments and treat patients with the respect they deserve. I had hoped for a positive experience at Florida Orthopaedic Institute, but unfortunately, I left without even seeing the doctor. This experience has undoubtedly left a sour taste in my mouth, and I would caution anyone considering this institute to be wary of their apparent lack of consideration for patients' time and well-being.

First visit here, staff was great. Dr Kannen is wonderful, talked me through draining and steroid injection of my knee. He has excellent technique, I barely had any discomfort. Highly recommend!

Doctor Pappou and his PA , the whole staff from star to finish are wonderful. I went in needing surgery and from the first visit to my surgery and my last visit was very smooth. Doctor Pappou is very attentive, patient and explained what he was going to do and what to expect in a way that was easy to understand. I would recommend Doctor Pappou and the Palm Harbor FL. Ortho Inst. location to any one needing his expertise. A big five star and thumbs up!!!
