What an absolutely stellar experience at Essential Medicine! I felt an immediate sense of calm when walking through the front door. We were greeted by one of the practitioners, Jools. She was so welcoming and set us up for our sauna session. She explained how to adjust the settings if needed and left us to one of the most relaxing hours of my life. The greenery, natural light, superior craftsmanship and exquisite ceramic drink-ware made for an absolute blissful sauna session. The post sauna shower is conveniently located in the sauna room so you don’t have to go far and ample towels were provided. The facility is EXCEPTIONALLY clean. Scheduling was also a breeze and I know they offer many many services to help you feel your best. I have met Dr. Chris before and he is attentive and thorough.

I've been treated by Dr. Chris since before he opened this clinic! I can confidently say he has completely changed my life. I suffered from headaches my entire life, and Chris helped me with acupuncture, supplements, cupping, massages, and therapy. He taught me how to change my diet and supported me throughout the entire process. He is incredibly competent in his field and has a kind soul. I actually consider him my primary doctor. I've had a few emergencies, like the time I had an excruciating headache and rushed to his clinic as if I were going to the hospital. Despite not having an appointment and it being his day off, he immediately biked to the clinic and did everything he could to help me. I felt so much better afterward. Over the years, we've become friends, and I've even started photographing professionally for the clinic and his growing family. Not only did I get healed during this time, but my husband also started treatment with Dr. Chris, as did many of my friends who witnessed my progress and wanted the same treatment. Dr. Chris, I can't thank you enough!

Mea culpa. I took down a review i had posted earlier which was a negative review. It was negative because i was so excited that their site said they were open and after 3 nights of no sleep, recent back surgery , neuropathy and i was at a pain level that was like 10+ and upon arrival they were closed. Left a message and got a call hours later that was from Dr. Jools who could not have been more understanding or sweeter, professional and apologetic. We talked about the review and i told her i would take it down. So i took it down. I mean, what other options does a guy have when you are about to go see a Dr. who is about to use your body as a voodoo doll , right? lol All kidding aside, I was wrong and polite conversation always wins out!

Dr. Jools, thank you for a wonderful time and for the natural healing of your needles to my aching shoulder blade. Your hypnotic voice put me to rest. Also your strong arms relaxed my muscle with your massage. My sauna experience was incredible! I'll do it again whenever I'm back in San Diego.

Essential Medicine has been pivotal in the healthcare of our family over the last four years, from treating a chronic condition my husband suffered from leptospirosis, to helping me heal postpartum after a cesarean. Dr. Chris provides an all encompassing, empathic care approach and Dr. Jools can help any woman out there be there best self. I have also enjoyed many relaxing and restorative moments here in the sauna and rainfall area. There is nothing like this anywhere in the city, I can promise you that. The care they put in the construction will ease your mind even before you step foot into the appointment. The sculptural facial massage was also the best thing I've ever received by Lana- it left my face feeling tight and glowing and my nervous system relaxed. I truly was smiling all week.

This space is a gem. Great location, ambience, services, and providers. For my birthday I spent time in their tranquil, infrared sauna before I got my treatment. I booked a buccal facial massage with Lana and it was a life changing experience. We have been doing myofunctional therapy and have found this to not only being healing and relaxing, but also very supportive of the work we've been doing. I highly recommend this treatment! Next I look forward to booking sessions with the HBOT
