Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Tustin

We chose Encompass/Tustin for rehab following a major surgery of a family member. While a few of the aides could be better trained (a wrong move so soon following a surgery could be disastrous) overall this was an excellent acute care hospital/rehab. From admissions, nursing, PT, OT, dietary, front desk - everyone is all about the business of getting people safe to get back to their homes. Three hours of thearpy every day where a schedule is given each morning. A sharp contrast to other places. All are private rooms with a private bathroom in a new well equipped building with all the modern tech. Kind, compassionate and exceptional care. Would definitely be our first choice should we need rehab in the future.

Wow is all I can say! My son was at Encompass in Tustin for 12 days due to a rock climbing accident. I have been to several rehab facilities in the past and this one was by far the most superior! The staff, nurses, therapists and case managers were all so friendly and accommodating making sure all of his needs were met. We were so impressed and would highly recommend this place as a rehab facility. He even liked the food! Thank you again for making this awful tragedy into a nice experience for his recovery.

My grandmother recently stayed at Encompass Rehab in Tustin after undergoing femur surgery, and I can’t express enough how wonderful the experience was. From the moment she arrived, it felt more like a 5-star resort than a rehab facility. The facility itself is new, spotlessly clean, and thoughtfully designed, providing a comfortable environment that immediately put us at ease. The staff here are truly exceptional, from the case managers and nurses to the doctors and physical therapists. Everyone showed such compassion, professionalism, and dedication to my grandmother’s recovery, and they really went above and beyond to make her feel cared for and supported. The physical therapy team was especially diligent, helping her regain her strength and mobility with gentle guidance and encouragement every step of the way. I wish all healthcare facilities could provide the same level of care and respect that Encompass Rehab has. Thank you to the entire team for treating my grandmother with the kindness and expertise she needed to make a strong recovery!"

We have been beyond impressed with this facility and the employees there. My uncle-in-law was placed there after suffering a stroke. He has received phenomenal care and has made remarkable progress in his recovery. The dedicated team of professionals is to be commended for the compassion, professionalism, dedication, and skill. I highly highly highly recommend this facility for anyone recuperating from a stroke. The food has been fine, and he appreciated having a private room. The staff truly has gone above and beyond, and we are so grateful for their help getting our uncle back on his feet, literally!

I have to admit that since I was admitted in the evening it was a rough first night. I was experiencing extreme pain, and having come from the hospital where I was administered IV pain medicine, there was a big change since I didn’t have the luxury of the IV medicine at Encompass. I remember the next day texting my dad saying that I needed to get out of here! Fortunately by 8:00am when the house doctor came around and I was able to explain how much pain I was in. They adjusted my medicine and then it was breakfast time, followed by physical therapy three times a day. I can’t say I was really too thrilled with that idea at first, but I knew the only way to recovery was to do what was asked of me by the professional doctors, nurses, physical therapists and all of the staff, for that matter. One of the things that impressed me the most was that when you pushed the nurses call button, no matter what time of day or night, it was apparent that it was everyone’s responsibility to check on you right away to determine the severity of your need before calling the nurse. The food was exceptional and for the most part I felt at home. It was a bonus that all of the rooms were private. Thank you all for helping in my recovery, but it’s good to be home now.

I have to admit that I love this rehab hospital. All of the staff, especially the team of therapists, are top notch. The staff does listen to you and responds. All rooms are private rooms which is nice. And, being someone who loves to eat, I have to say that the food here is great!! Let’s put it this way……..I’ve been here a few times and I call it the Club Med of rehab hospitals. You’re gonna be working hard in therapy ~ 3 times a day here ~ but afterwards you’ll be well on your way!

90% of the pt and ot staff were excellent. The facility was moderately clean. 90% of the rn's and cna's were excellent. The kitchen was horrible and out of touch with their version of dietary intake. My blood sugars were always way above normal due to food intake not matching my medicine intake. I have a 6 aic there I was at or above 200 unless I ordered outside delivery. Certain r n' would wake you every 15 minute while you tried to sleep. Others would do everything they needed to do at one time. The lady that drew my blood was not very good. She poked me 6 times. I was upset since the hospital I had just left had no issues and they drew blood every other day. Would I go back or recommend them. Not with a good conscious.

Ths is second time my husband has been here for concentrated PT work. As a Parkinson's patient the PT is very important and the staff does a great job. I would have given 5 star rating if it were not for the problems encountered with the disbursement of his meds. They seem to not understand, at times, that Parkinson's meds MUST be givcen within a certain time frame of the times ordered. There is no ifs, ands or buts about that timing as it causes a problem for the next 24-36 hours if late. The staff is very caring and have only good things to say about them all.....if they ccan get the med problem straightened out then they will get a 5 Star rating.
