Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Spring Hill

A family member of mine was an impatient for 3 weeks a couple of years ago and now this family member is an outpatient for physical therapy and occupational therapy. The members of this facility are outstanding, considerate, thoughtful professional and extremely friendly. There is absolutely nothing negative I can say about Encompass. They put their patients above everything. Kudos to everyone there.

These folks are the best. My wife was not making progress at another rehab center and I knew about Encompass so I just walked in on a Monday morning and talked to the receptionist who immediately rang up the director. The Director came out within 5 minutes and heard my story. She advised they would do their best to get my wife into their facility but had to appeal it to the insurance carrier. One week later my wife was shipped to their facility and started making immediate progress. She had had two serious operations 6 week’s previously and had lost all abilities to walk. These folks got the job done and my wife also had excellent nursing care. Within three weeks she was walking in a walker. Their rehab folks are very encouraging and go getters. Wife has been home now for 6 weeks and is improving daily. I liked the fact that they assigned her to two rehab therapists so she felt obligated to participate in her own rehab.

my mother-in-law is at this facility again for the third time. Every time I come, her sheets are all crumpled up. She’s got bedsores that are not taken care of and all the nurses wanna do God forbid if you ask for help at 6:45 they say wait for the next ship to come, that’s unacceptable. As far as I’m concerned she’s 84 years old and she is no problem at all. She does no behavior problem. No nothing. She sits here and waits for a nurse to come every single time she calls for one sometimes it’s for more than an hour so if you’re going to improve and encompass rehabilitation center, you better improve on hiring nurses that are with their hearts and their abilities

I was a recent patient in this facility. The first class attention and service was outstanding. The therapist are all trained in specific disciplines. You have actual licensed therapist working with each patient. They did a 10 star service in my therapy. I really recommend Them for hospital rehab services.

I absolutely would recommend Healthsouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Spring Hill (“Healthsouth”) without reservation. My 87 year old mother was at Oak Hill Hospital and needed inpatient rehabilitation services (physical and occupational) before returning home. I researched not only Healthsouth but the other rehabilitation facilities in the Spring Hill area. In making the decision I would give this advice to anyone else needing to make a similar decision: • Know the difference between a Rehabilitation Hospital (e.g. Healthsouth) and a Skilled Nursing Facility (Spring Hill Health and Rehabilitation). The care provided at these two different kinds of facilities is VERY different. Healthsouth’s sole focus is on rehabilitation, generally 3 hours per day for 5 days each week. No one stays and lives at their facility long term. This is not the case of a Skilled Nursing Facility (basically a long term care/nursing home that also provides rehabilitation services at a much lower level). • Know that if the patient is covered under Medicare they have the right to choose the rehabilitation facility they want to go to—assuming, in the case of Medicare Advantage plans, that the facility is covered by the patient’s insurance. • Go visit the facilities you are considering. One visit and I was convinced Healthsouth was the place for my Mom to receive the best care. A bright, upbeat, cheery environment with patients and staff engaged and enjoying their therapy sessions. The size of the gym speaks for itself…so many different exercise machines, equipment, tools, games, aids, etc. to stimulate and keep the patients’ engaged and interested in their own therapy. • Know that Oak Hill Hospital's physicians, employed by Access Health, will try every way possible to direct you to a facility other than Healthsouth, specifically to a facility serviced also by Access Health physicians. Don’t fall for the rationale and excuses they will give you as to why your family member should not be going to Healthsouth. Be strong. Be your loved one’s advocate to ensure they go to the proper facility that will give them the best care. You may be told "no" several times but don't give up. After two weeks my Mom is going home tomorrow. She is so pleased and happy with the care, professionalism, respect, empathy, and focused attention she has received while a patient at Healthsouth. Thank you to the entire staff….an outstanding job to be commended!!!

My wife has been here twice due to lung and stroke complications. After the first visit we were extremely pleased with the staff and the treatment she received here. After a medical setback in her recovery, there was no doubt in our minds that this facility was the one we were coming back to. Dr Thorne-Perez is absolutely wonderful. She is caring and excellent doctor. Natalie Nardello is an outstanding speech therapist and helped my wife work through her speech and swallowing issues after the stroke. Alex Franklin was her physical therapist and was, again, caring and exceptional and did wonders getting her mobile again. Laura Thompson was her occupational therapist, and, like the rest of the staff here, was absolutely exceptional and fun to be around. If you or a dear one needs a rehab hospital, this is the place to come!

This was my second stay at encompass health they have a great program that challenges your physical strength and they evaluate your needs so that you can be safe whether it be living by yourself or with family or wherever it is that you live. They are all wonderful people to deal with very kind. This is a difficult time for most people when they are recovering and they are so good at helping you improve your strength and always think about your safety. I would highly recommend this facility for anyone that you know that needs inpatient physical therapy! Good job guys keep up the great work that you do!!

Insurance companies need to offer more time at any Rehab for stroke patients. Don't waste time starting anywhere else. Encompass in Spring Hill was impressive, from the minute we came through the doors, for my husband's admission after stroke. We were immediately attended to and explained the process. Once all the evaluations were complete, he started therapy. Every single day he made progress. Whatever he learned in therapy he would focus on the rest of the day. That same night he always met his goal. Olan, the director of therapy was amazing and always working with you. Megan, Renee and Tamar retaught him walking, using arms, Confidence to continue to improve, speech, memory and so much more. His therapy team was his rock! I would go states, cities and towns from home, to have the opportunity to heal and recover with Encompass of Spring Hill. Case Manager Michaelanne, was my rock! My broken heart and being so weak from this process made it hard to keep everything in order for his discharge and home care. Yet no worries at all, she did the work and helped me through it, her smile and happiness kept Victor on a positive path. If your breaking down and having a hard time, she has a way !! Great smile!!
