Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Mechanicsburg

I can’t imagine any other rehab hospital doing any better than this Encompass facility. I am so, so glad to have had the opportunity to go to Encompass Mechanicsburg for my initial rehabilitation. My experience was Wonderful. From meeting the CEO Kristen, all the way through the wonderful care ranks of this hospital, 24/7, was caring and there to help in anyway they could. Also, my experience with the OT and PT teams were very thorough and professional. Thank you Kristen and your whole Encompass team. Jay R

The services provided by this facility were good, except for the performance of a few aides. The doctors didn’t spend enough time with me so that I could explain how I was feeling. They would visit for a couple of minutes and say you are doing well, best wishes and leave. No one ever examined me. The nurses, OT’s, PT, were helpful, compassionate and knowledgeable. I didn’t stay very long this visit; therefore, I am having mobility issues and chronic pain at home, even with the limited in home health care services. They will release me by the end of November. Then, I will have Fox Rehabilitation Services with a small copay. I also need a low air loss mattress, but no one at Encompass was able to help me to get one. I have a good hospital bed gel mattress, but it is not good enough for me to have my weight distributed. I am a sore when I get up in the morning and it is difficult to walk. It is also difficult to transfer from my wheelchair to my bed or from my electric scooter to my wheelchair. The second time I was a patient at Emcompass the Nurse Practitioner prescribed Cipro for me. On my chart, it stated that I was allergic to this medication. She prescribed six doses of 250mg of Cipro over a three day period of time. One of the most common side effects of Cipro is damage to the tendons in the legs. Now I am unable to lift my legs very high, perhaps just two or three inches from the floor. How do I get these toxins out of my system or does my condition continue to get worse? All staff was amazing! They took Great care of my dad during his stay after his stroke! We appreciate their hard work and dedication that give each and every day! From the case workers, physicians, nursing staff, therapy staff and even the front office reception staff EVERYONE was always so polite, welcoming and easy to talk too

I was in the hospital for a week and then transferred to encompass rehab hospital in Mechanicsburg. I have nothing but good things to say about my care and professional manner in which everyone treated me. I usually had three doctors pop in a day to check if I had any need. All the nurses for room 204 were were caring and professional. Even the nurses aids, the food delivery people, the woman who called me each day to get my menu for the day. The Physical and occupational therapist are very caring and professional. My room was clean, but the bathroom could use a spiff up.

My mother in law was transported to Encompass for rehabilitation. The Facility was clean, food was very good, the PT and OT were very helpful aiding her to regain her ability back to walk . The nurses staff was caring and informative. Mom’s caseworker Autumn, was excellent and caring, we knew we could discuss any concerns we had with her and felt assured we’d have a positive outcome. Mom‘s stay at Encompass was a very good experience. Thank you to all involved with her care.

My mom's rehabilitation at encompass was excellent. Great staff. They definitely had her best interest at heart. Highly recommend this place.

Great staff, OT & PT. Everyone was supportive and helpful. Food's pretty good, lots of choices. Definitely recommend for rehab. May need surgery on my other foot and that's where I will request to go.

My Mother was recently a patient at Encompass. The staff was very caring and provided excellent therapy services to her. It was a good experience and my Mother made good improvements.
