My grandmother recently had an exceptional experience as a patient at Encompass Health. The dedicated staff provided her with professional, compassionate care every step of the way. At 86 years old, we knew she needed the intensive rehab therapy only found at an inpatient facility like Encompass. An Encompass liaison met my grandmother at Baptist Hospital to explain the rehab process and work with insurance to get her admitted. Within 48 hours of admission, a case manager and administrators had already met with her to ensure a smooth transition from Baptist to Encompass. The nursing staff diligently monitored her recovery. One example is a thoughtful nurse tech who was kind and encouraging while explaining my grandmother's transfer and walking progress in detail. The therapists worked tirelessly with her for three hours a day. The environmental services team kept her room clean and tidy. Everyone was polite, dedicated, and truly invested in her recovery. She had a minor medical setback, which she recovered from in approximately 72 hours, thanks to the rehab physician's swift observations and response. By discharge, she had made remarkable progress that would not have been possible without the individualized, attentive rehab therapy at Encompass. My grandmother is now thriving back in her home and I credit the wonderful staff at Encompass for providing the compassionate care and intensive rehab she needed. We are so grateful for this exceptional facility and the dedicated people who work there.

Lower left leg amputation. The Encompass unit has been great. Good food, great Doctors,Nurses, and therapists. This is a wonderful facility if you keep a positive attitude about it, and follow their recommendations and their therapy programs.

I came in scared to death and in lots of pain. I had fallen and broke my ankle and my leg. This is a first for me, never broke a bone like this before. A toe and finger yes but bones like this no. I was really anxious and scared. Joba and Alex were the first to get me up. I have such a fear of falling now. So they had their work cut out for me. They had me do s on me exercises and then the part I was so scared about. Alex, help me stand and Joba was so good. I kept telling them that I could not hop. And, Joba told me Terry don't say you can't. I know Alex is here getting his hours for college and I have to say he was so gentle with me but also firm when needed. Whom ever he works for once he graduates will be blessed with him for sure. That day with he and Joba encouraging me I hopped. They taught me so much. Alex the OT was such a beautiful person. She came into my room and said what about a shower. Those were the best words I had heard. She helped me so much and she has such compassion for her patients. I loved working with her. I must say she was there to help me to do things if I needed her but she wanted me to show her, I could do it. These. Three do their jobs with such professionalism that it makes you know you can and will get better. The Aides that help the nurses with their jobs are ok. There were only two that really took their jobs seriously and made you feel that they actually cared about you and they were Bertha and Tracy. I think her name was Tracy I remember talking to Bertha about her and she had let me know she had trained her so ask Bertha for the name to make sure her name was Tracy. These to can really help you feel at home. They never made me feel I was a problem and they went above and beyond to make me comfortable. Tracy always had a smile on her face. These are the one's who made my stay excellent. I only had one bad experience while I was there and it worked out so I'm not even going to say what happened. Every single person that works either in OT or PT were great. I have no complaints in that area. The only thing that bothered me was at night the nurses and aides would hardly answer your call lights. One night I was trying to get up to pee and my alarm on my bed was set so when I would try and get up it would go off. The nurses and aides that night acted like I was a burden to them. I was about to just pee in the bed when someone finally came in. Other than that, Encompass is a great place and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Thank you, Terry Meagley

The food is absolutely disgusting for the most part. The help isn’t interested in helping you. They put you through your paces in the physical therapy which is what they are supposed to do. I have trouble with my shoulders but they make me work them out anyway which has caused me much undue pain. My family found this place to try to help me but I don’t feel like I have been helped.

Very very disappointed! My dad was released aug 31... I was told he would be taken to walgreens to pick up his new medication and would be taken home and set up. Instead they did not get his perscriptios. When he got home the drivers dog took off. The driver got his dog and left my dad without at least making sure he made it to the house! My dad could not get his keys ti work and tried to wave the driver down with no avail! I was told that my dad should not he in the heat and that he should not over do anything! He was stuck outside in 99 plus weather on 17 acres no neighbors no cell phone trying to break into his house! He finally was able to break a window get in and called me. When I got to his house 40 min later his pulse and blood pressure were still through the roof! I will never recommend this company to ANYONE! When I called to complain I was told there would be an investigation but had to insist they took my name and number! If you love your family please do not rely on this company to take caee of them!

Case Manager, Nicole Cherry, has unethical practices, I thought our situation was isolated but as I continue to investigate I am discovering her unsafe methods are common practice— a local medical supply vendor said, “she is a (expletive) nut”. When Encompass is made aware of concerns, in this case regarding an employee, and allow questionable activities to occur/continue, with regard to patient safety and discharge planning, then the management is complicit in her actions and complaints should be escalated to the state/federal level.

I would like to recognize Ms. Nicole Harp RN, rehabilitation liaison. Her caring and compassion and dedication to insuring the best possible outcome for the patient will be something I will remember and talk about whenever I speak of health rehabilitation. I had the honor and privilege of working with her during my time as a case manager at Mercy hospital. I’ve never met such a kind and considerate person. Encompass is the BEST rehab facility in our area.
