Found Emily because I had injured my shoulder while climbing. I had watched a bunch of videos online and was doing my own rehab for ~2 months, even took a break from climbing, but my shoulder was only getting worse. From our first meeting, Emily was able to pinpoint exactly what was causing the pain, how it related to a series of other injuries I had had in the past from climbing, and how I should add to my training going forward. As soon as I started doing the exercises and stretches Emily gave me, the improvement in my shoulder was immediate. The best part was that I was able to continue climbing and training while rehabbing my shoulder! Emily worked with me to figure out what kind of climbing I could do without re-aggravating my shoulder. My main goal was to have my shoulder be healthy enough for Bishop a month and a half after our first visit, and now that I've just returned from that trip, I'm really happy to say that my shoulder is completely healed and I was able to project fully. Since that initial visit, I've had Emily help me with my chronic wrist instability and pain, lower back pain from lifting, and other recurring issues that come from being hypermobile. She's helped me completely reform the way that I stretch, train, and recover for climbing, and the improvements have been noticeable! If you're a climber, do yourself a favor and book an appointment with Emily.

After my sessions with Emily, I am free from 20 years of chronic shoulder pain. She is insightful, kind, and endlessly knowledgeable about the human body. She gave me personalized exercises, recommendations, and referrals that have improved all aspects of my life. What a blessing. Thank you Emily!

emily was a crucial part of getting me to the start line (and finish line!) of the amsterdam marathon this year!! she was lovely to work with and incredibly helpful in my recovery from IT band sydnrome and post tib tendonitis while still allowing me to train. highly recommend emily for all of your physical therapy needs :)

I couldn’t be more happier picking Emily for my PT needs. I came to her after doing PT from other locations, but I didn’t feel my wrist was any better for climbing. - Flexible on scheduling, I saw her five times every 3-4 weeks, with a focus on home exercises, which was exactly what I was looking for (and I graduated when we both felt it was time). Note that her exercises targeted my wrist issues more closely than the generic ones I’ve been given from insurance covered PT and online sources - She was very familiar with my body type, as she worked with dancers and paid close attention to my hypermobility - Even though I went to her for my wrist, we were also simultaneously able to work on my right shoulder rotator cuff (which I completely forgot about) and my left ankle. Other PTs (at least with insurance) wouldn’t provide this level of attention. - Able to climb while rehabbing! She provided a very specific climbing regimen, which was fantastic for accountability - Looked over climbing videos and helped correct my form (since climbing caused my injuries in the first place) In three months, I am back to projecting again, and she has given me a solid foundation to continue my climbing and non climbing goals. I wish I had seen her first, would have saved me six months of time. Highly recommend Emily, especially if any of the above resonated with you.

Worked with Emily for two bulging discs in my back. Saw steady and continuous improvements over 12 weeks. She’s very capable and knowledgeable and will help get you back to pre injury status (or better!)

Emily is very knowledgeable and was able to explain clearly what the issue causing pain in my back. She gave me exercises that targeted the weakness and am very happy that I made rapid progress after months with no improvement. She cares about her clients, is a good listener, and has so much valuable experience. I would recommend her to anyone.

Emily is the real deal when it comes to climbing injuries. I worked with Emily to rehab a pulley rupture, and I was beyond impressed with the results. She gave me multiple extremely thorough diagnoses with ultrasound and a rehab plan that got me to beyond my pre-injury strength within record time. I would recommend Emily to any climber in the Bay Area, or even outside the Bay Area; she is that good.

Had a great experience working with Emily to diagnose and rehab a Climbing related pulley injury. I had unsuccessfully tried to rehab the issue myself only to have it flare up again. Emily’s was able to help me identify and understand the initial issue and setup me up with a comprehensive plan on how to rehab and restore the pulley. Glad to say I’m feeling as strong as ever and strongly recommend her services.
