Elms Haven Center

My mother received excellent care at Elms Haven. The staff was attentive and caring, not only to my Mother's needs, but to our family as well. The nurses and CNA's were wonderful. I am so thankful that they were there to care for my mother in her final months. Thank you so much.

I am a resident here at Elms. I have experiencence very good treatment and the staff are very sympathetic to my needs. I was wheelchair bound when I first arrived and since being here I can already walk and I use the wheelchair minimally. The PT and OT team are great. Nursing team are awesome and scheduled medication are always given on time everyday. The nurses schedule all of my outside appointments and they are very accommodating to my needs. I would say if there were issues that needed to be resolved, I just need to ask the the the nurse manager or the administrator and they will get it resolved immediately.

This review is for my father and what I witnessed while he was at this facility. The staff gets 4 stars for doing the best they could with what seemed like limited resources. The facility itself is very gloomy and no place I would recommend sending a loved one. He doesn't complain much so when he said he wasn't being fed properly, I knew he wasn't lying. The pic below is an idea of a "meal". Send your family to a different facility if possible or check on them often if this is the only option.

Food is horrible it many looks like dog food spend more on food service and quality for these elderly frail and less on something not as important as nutrition

If you have a choice to place your loved one in a care facility, DO NOT place them in Elms haven/ Genius!! The care is awful! Went to visit mom her clothes have not been changed in four days. There were ants in her bed and all over her room! She will be moved this week!!! Needless to say they give no amount of care or compassion to the residents. Awful just awful. Breaks my heart knowing this and feel so sorry for those that are there. And have no where else to go. God bless the residents who have to endure such horrible conditions.

Went on a short guided tour of Elms Haven with Nellie today.I liked it. It was clean and well lit. The therapy room was spacious with a variety of equipment for clients to use for gaining strength, mobility, and independence.

I wouldn't send a cockroach to this place. Too many problems to even list here. A formal complaint has been logged with the proper people. My Aunt was here and for 3 months had no electricity in her room. When we kept requesting in writing for it to be repaired we were told they're working on it. She was paying 10,000 a month as a private pay. When I had the county inspector finally come to see what the problem was it was a blown breaker!! How hard is it to flip a switch?!?! Edit to my review below: here we are in the midst of a pandemic and I am so blessed that my grandmother is at Elms Haven. The staff and families have gotten together to make sure that residents are safe, well taken care of, given love, and attention. We have daily calls with updates on covid. We have a family support group that helps each other during this time and provides snacks for the nursing staff. We love the staff so much and appreciate everyone at Elms Haven.10 stars for care, communication, and community!! Elms Haven is a nice facility. I adore all of the staff and appreciate them all so much. They take wonderful care of my grandmother and all of the residence there. Not only do they care for their needs but they really listen to their stories. I am there almost daily and really feel that they don't consider working there as a job but as a passion. Thank you all so much for your dedication!
