This is an edit to my original review: The new building is beautiful. But when you don’t get quality care what does it matter what the building looks like? Please don’t place your loved one here. I was told “you pet her too much (referring to my aunt) and we can’t pet them when there’s 45 of them”. That pretty much sums it up. We were apprehensive about placing our aunt in Elk River Rehab because of the negative reviews posted on this page. We had several meetings with the social worker, therapy, activities and nursing staff. We are very grateful for the staff and how well they care not just for our aunt but for the other residents. We especially love the director of therapy, Gabby. She really has a heart for the residents and it shows in her actions. They have a tough job and deserve appreciation for their hard work. We visit often to check on our aunt and always try to encourage the staff because they have such challenging jobs.

If you care anything about your loved ones, please keep them out of this facility. We placed my father here and it was a nightmare. Everytime we came in to visit my father would smell of urine and feces, and looked terrible. We learned that the staff would leave him on the ground (he would fall and could not walk) for over 24 hours at a time if not longer. He wasn't getting any food or water and had to constantly be taken to the hospital. They did not properly clean, feed or care for him in anyway. We thankfully have found a great placement for him at another facility. I pray that now that the new building is built they will replace all staff with decent, ethical people.

New Building, new Director of Nursing, new rules. All the changes are made. Please take the time to stop by our beautiful building, take a tour. Give your family member a safe home when they can't be in their home.

From previous reviews, Elk River has since opened their new building that is absolutely beautiful. There are also new staff including new Administration and we are doing our best to make it better for our residents and their families. Please give us the opportunity to help you or your family! We have an awesome therapy program! Always feel free to give us a call or come by and tour our new facility.

This place is horrible. Carolyn Howell specifically is no help! Very rude!! I work in Healthcare and now more than ever its important for family to see their loved one. We don't require babysitting to sit outside and visit. Very disappointed in the care and consistency of this establishment. This place gives SNF a bad name.

Very uncaring and unprofessional towards the family by not calling my father's only child to let me know he had passed away. Unforgivable. As a retired nursing home nurse I would never have been so heartless.

A local nursing home confirms it's had 52 out of 52 patients test positive for coronavirus, and 17 patients who tested positive have died. Elk River of Ardmore in Tennessee confirmed the cases in a statement on Monday.

The nurse staff us very kind and helpful, though I fear it may be slightly understaffed, it's a nice place. And smells much better then expected, though it doesn't smell good.
