Tara and Elite Physio is a phenomenal place to go for physical therapy needs. Tara has helped me recover from several injuries and reduced recovery time by 25-50% by her techniques tailored to my body. She’s extremely knowledgeable and exceptionally welcoming. If you are looking for a physical therapist, I highly recommend Tara and Elite Physio.

Tara has been my physical therapist for years now. She is AMAZING!! She worked with 3D Special Forces Group THOR3. You can google THOR3 to see exactly what it is, but I’ll tell you that not just anybody can work there. She has experience working with some of the most extreme combat injuries. I have gone to a few different places for physical therapy after I retired because that is where I was referred out to. Each time I ended up calling Tara and she fixed what others could not. She is also a master of dry needling. For those that don’t know what that is, dry needling uses acupuncture needles to actually get into the muscle to release muscle knots. It’s similar to a deep tissue massage only it doesn’t hurt like a deep tissue massage does. Each time you see Tara, I guarantee you will leave feeling much better than when you walked in.

I spent almost 21yrs on the teams after leaving the infantry. Anyone who knows our business can tell you that nobody tears up a body like we do. I came back involuntarily after my last trip to Syria and faced a long and painful recovery. There wasn’t a drug or procedure under the sun I hadn’t tried. I could barely walk at best. I can honestly say Tara was my personal angel. She never gave up on me and forced me to keep my head up even when I didn’t want to- and that’s a hard thing to admit for me. Tara went way beyond just rehabilitating me physically. She genuinely made me feel like she cared, and she didn’t have to at all. She didn’t even know me. Far from family, injured and alone she wouldn’t let me spend Thanksgiving by myself. She brought me into her family and healed some things I had forgotten were broken. I’m a better man having known her.

So, there I was, this is a real story. I had the time of my life deploying 11 times with 3D SFG (A), but at a cost of absorbing many blasts. I ended up in Walter Reed with numerous issues. I sustained eight TBIs, CRPS, multiple joints damaged, central vertigo, and much more. I had to learn to walk again. She. I got back to Bragg, I went to see Tara, I had never met her before. She was direct and very interested in my case. Tara, the finest of doctors, worked with me and developed a plan with other doctors to get me right before I retired. She used a dietician, yoga instructor, other PTs, needling, you name it, she worked it in. Ahead of all expectations with the use of many different treatments, Tara got me where I am today. She’s mind and caring. She’s an angel. She truly cares. There is nobody I’d rather have to treat my conditions. You will be in good hands.

I had a complete tear of my left tricep tendon in Sept 2019. I was slotted to take a ODA in January 2020. Less than 4 weeks after surgery Tara began cranking and twisting on my whithered left arm that I could barely bend at the elbow, much less use for anything. She was telling me I’d be good by January while at the same time I needed help from my wife just to take a shower. After working with Tara for almost 4 months I was able to jump static line again by January, take a team, and a complete return to duty. As of March I’m cleared for everything and back lifting again in the gym. Most people with a tricep tear take 6-8 months to start getting back to normal. Tara had me there in 4 working with her 2-3 times a week. In addition to working on my arm she has also done dry needling on my hip for an IT band issue. Needless to say, when anyone asks me about my arm or recovery, the first thing I do is talk about my Physical Therapist. Thanks for putting me back together Tara. I’ll try to stop breaking myself.

The ability to move beyond simply manipulating body parts and pieces towards uniting body, mind and spirit is unique. Tara has that ability. Tara has worked with me through recovery from a broken back, knee and hip pain and strength recovery all while sensing a deeper understanding of mental and emotional pain held within my body. Today I am healthy physically, mentally and emotionally with her help.

Mrs. Tara is an absolute necessary asset to anyone recovering from an injury, looking to advance in their physical field, or for the junior athletes looking to build a solid base that will last them a lifetime. In 2016 i was in motorcycle accident that almost cost me my life, i suffered a multitude of initial injuries at the scene of the crash and then throughout my 31 day stay at the hospital i experienced a rollercoaster of health problems. The most debilitating was when i contracted Sepsis and as a result, i went from being an athletic 225ish pounds to 163 pounds that couldn’t walk without assistance. To give context, i work in the SOF community and was getting ready for my 2nd deployment, so physical prowess is an essential factor of my everyday life. When i was transferred to Mrs. Tara’s care i couldn’t walk up more than 3-4 flights of stairs without seeing the black dots that precedes a blackout, i was in a tremendous amount of pain throughout the day, and many people in my community thought i was going to have to be medically discharged. Every day i spent with Mrs. Tara was a day i learned something, whether it be a new stretch that lessened the pain in my back that i had broken in 15 places or it was new exercise that i really sucked at that Mrs Tara was determined to see me conquer. After roughly 4.5 months i received a phone call that i was being transferred back to my old duty station in Savannah, GA sooner than expected. When i told Mrs Tara this she was so concerned with my health and future well being that she almost cried and said she would do anything she could to stop that transfer, however i was more ready to get back to work, so she very unhappily relented. After 4.5 months i went from the worst physical stage of my life of being unable to walk less than half a mile, not being able to lift myself out of the couch, and using prescribed pain medication everyday throughout the day to being able to run 5 miles, meet the standard for pull ups in the military, and not using any medication other than ice packs. She gave me my job back and stuck through it with me which is an absolute miracle in my eyes and i couldn’t be more blessed to have met someone like Mrs Tara. Even to this day, 4 years later, i still text her questions about something related to physical health and she not only gives me more than the answer i expected, but routinely follows up with me to see how everything went. I could not praise Mrs Tara any higher, if i could i would, she enabled me to continue to preform my job which is the one of the most important things in my life. In her care, you’ll be in the best hands in the business and it will pay huge dividends in the future.

Tara at Elite Physio is truly a world class PT. While I won’t go into exact detail, she’s been instrumental in my recovery from 2x catastrophic injuries as well as numerous other less serious injuries, resulting in me being able to continue on in a profession that I love. Truly a cut above the rest.
