Electrify America Charging Station

The problem here is that you don’t know what you’re getting. One machine charges at 150kwh and the machine next to it runs at 60kwh. As usual 25% of chargers are down. So 9outbof 12 are usually functioning. Contrast that to the 40+ machines for Tesla.

Good number of ccs charging stations, clean and well laid out. A large Tesla charging field is laid out adjacent with a small (by comparison) gas station. Two counter service restaurants with two bathrooms and high prices are there to pass the time while you charge.

Seriously needs to increase capacity. The Tesla super chargers right beside have at least 70 slots. This one has 12 and has a line during holidays.

Charging worked great. In and out in 18 minutes. Super fast - saw charging speeds of 223kw. Great station

Pros: 12 charging stations all in good repair with plenty of shade. Cons: Bathrooms are disgusting and the convenience store has like 300% inflated prices. DQ and Jersey Mikes both sounded passable. Neither were open until 10am so there went that. The hot food in the store looked GROSS. Recommend: Charge only and pee in the bushes!

11/3. Counted 12 chargers. All working. Used the 350 'hyper fast'. Started at 13% and it charged the Riv to 91% in 66 mins. Since it wasn't busy we were able to keep the trailer attached 😁. (Also 40 Tesla chargers here.) Shell station next to it had 24 hr food and clean bathrooms.

This is the MUST place to visit if you are driving your EV from SoCal to visit the Las Vegas. Although you can find multiple EA charging stations including ones in the Baker, this place probably has the most # of Hyper charging station. Also thanks to the covered roof so you don’t need to stay inside of the vehicle during the charging session. Come out and stretch your legs. Only cons for this place is the lack of cafe/restroom/restaurant attached, but you see whole bunch of gas stations and restaurants in 5 driving minutes. The small town the charging station is located is like an Oasis, whether you drive Tesla (Tesla Superchargers are located next to this), non-Tesla EV or even ICE vehicle.

Baker, CA - What do you think of? The GIANT thermometer that you can see for miles? The Mad Greek Restaurant? The Truck Stop with the DQ and Jersey Mike's Mike's Subs? Or do you think of an EV charging oasis? That's right, there are a dozen EV chargers and there are dozens of Tesla chargers (soon to be about 100) in Baker, CA. So, on your way to Las Vegas and points east or on your way to California and points west, you can count on getting the charge you need for your EV. BTW, the chargers have shade provided by the solar panel "ramadas". Now, if only they would open another restaurant. (Sigh)
