UPDATE After SIX MONTHS with this company my daughter still has only had 2 one hour sessions and has never had an RBT established with her. My son had 1 RBT for two months. She went on leave a month ago and decided to leave the company. in the last month both my kids have had ZERO hours of ABA even though they were assessed and approved by insurance for 25 hours per WEEK. The last RBT they tried to send to start with us literally just never showed. 3 times in a row!! They are now promising me 1 RBT that both my kids will have to share but we'd also be splitting hours with 3 other families. IF this RBT ever actually shows up my daughter will get 5 hours per week and my son will get 8.5 hours per week. Again out of the 25 hours per week that they should be getting. I'm not confident this RBT is even going to show up. I've started looking for other companies who can provide the services that my kids need. I feel like EBS should have told me up front that they didn't have the staff necessary to provide my children with the care they need. Because they weren't transparent, my kids have had services that they desperately need withheld from them for SIX MONTHS! Original Review: I am INCREDIBLY disappointed in the way that EBS Children's Institute of San Diego conducts themselves. I have 2 young autistic children and I came to them for help to set up ABA services for both of them. Our initial contact was on November 15th. On November 24th they told me that since we were changing insurance providers January 1st of the following year that they wanted to wait until our insurance changed before starting services. This was to save them from having to fill out insurance paperwork with our current insurance provider and then having to fill out additional paperwork with our new insurance provider when it switched a month and a half later. I told them that it was unacceptable to me to delay services that my children need in order to save themselves from additional paperwork and I requested that they immediately start the paperwork request through our current insurance. All these conversations were with Christina Chavarria, Director of Operations. She agreed that they could do the extra paperwork and would do so immediately. A month later, on December 21st, I called my current insurance provider for an update on the authorization requests and they tell me that EBS Children's Institute has NEVER reached out to them or submitted necessary documentation online to request authorization!!!! Then after all my upset calls and emails today I hear from Alexandra Kopack, regional director, via email that states they wont be requesting services through our current insurance and are waiting until they get approval from the new insurance provider that takes effect January 1st. These people are lazy, don't trust them with your children's care and needs, I sure wish I hadn't.
