Brian Neff is my therapist and he is kind, attentive, and the most helpful!!! He listens to my concerns and gives insightful feedback. All the staff are very hospitable and personable. They treat the problem not just the symptoms. It’s always clean, organized, and efficient. I definitely would recommend this place to anyone and everyone!!! They deserve 100 stars!

I had developed ilotibial band syndrome in my left leg which causes pain in the hip, thigh and knee on the outside of the leg. A friend of mine recommended physical therapy at ESSMC in Penn Hills. I have gone for 2 appointments so far within a week. The staff at the front desk are very friendly. My physical therapist first evaluated my condition as to what I could physically do and not do. Then, he had me doing exercises to strengthen the muscles surrounding my hip and knee. These exercises did not cause any pain to my hip or knee. It was recommended that I do these exercises at home once per day. I have done so. At my second appointment, my therapist introduced new exercises. I performed these as well as some of the first exercises. It has been only a been a week and a half, and my condition has dramatically improved! I'm able to walk more quickly and twist my leg some without pain. I have read online that it takes 4 to 8 weeks for healing, but at the rate I'm going, I'll be healed in no time!

Outstanding care all around. Everyone here is wonderful, Brian is the best therapist I have ever had, he explains what he is doing, what you will get out of it, and what you should do at home to keep your regiment going. The rest of the staff is caring and professional and friendly. They all work together so easily, like a well oiled machine. A fun atmosphere.

Neil and Melissa are excellent therapists...and on top of it, they treat you with respect. I not only would recommend either of them, I have done so! Rob, who works on vestibular and other neuro issues, is excellent too!

This was my first severe back pain I have had (pinch nerve). My back issues were explained to me in detail which allowed me to understand what happened and what game plan we were going to start out with. And after 5 - 6 weeks of therapy, I am pain free with full motion of my back. I would highly recommend Brian (the spine guy) and the support staff to anyone looking for pain relief and a little education.

Not really a PT enthusiast. Believe in working out my orthopedic issues via Yoga. Tore my medial meniscus, had surgery & PT was recommended in August, 2023. Searched PT programs in my area. Decided to schedule with ESSMC-Penn Hills. Best decision I could have ever made. Scheduling was easy. Front desk staff were all friendly & welcoming. Tech PT staff equally as friendly, knowledgeable, & supportive of PT prescribed programming. Facility clean & well organized. Most importantly, my physical therapist, Neil Reynolds is the best. Neil prescribed a therapeutic program to (1.) reduce/loose the tightness in the knee (2.) strengthen the muscles surrounding my knee (3.) reduce the inflammation around the knee (4.) improve the flexibility of the knee (5.) and, icing to calm the knee post exercising. Neil modifies the PT exercises as progress of goals are accomplished. Neil is hands on and provides manipulation of the knee to stretch/massage muscles & reduce inflammation. Overall, Neil is professional, knowledgeable, pleasant and a wonderful individual with whom to work. I am truly pleased that I chose ESSMC/Penn Hills as my physical therapy provider and that I received Neil Reynolds as my physical therapist.

Very caring and knowledgeable staff. Very friendly and makes you feel comfortable and at ease. It's only been 3 weeks for me and I can already feel advancements in my knee. I highly recommend this practice to anyone who needs physical therapy.

ESSMC Penn Hills is a fantastic place for PT. I can't say enough good things about the entire staff. Incredibly friendly and caring. They genuinely take an interest in why you are there and what you are working to get back to doing. Neil is one of the best and has helped both me and my son recover from injuries over the past several years. Lucky to have such a wonderful resource so close to where we live.
