Doctors on Duty

PA Alejandro Alvarez and MA Leo in Santa Cruz are 5 star service providers. Alejandro is an exceptional human and treated me with exceptional care when I had started to give up on the dismissive and halfhearted staff at DOD (the administrative personnel in Salinas canceled on me repeatedly and closed the referrals to critical specialists without notifying me, essentially abandoning my care). DOD should thank the stars above that they have Alejandro to redeem themselves as his is extraordinary and goes the extra mile, even anticipating my needs to save me the effort of re-explaining and making sure I have continuous care. He is sharp and able to crack challenging elusive diagnoses and is innovative with treatment and recommendations, not just going by the book.

The office staff have a great daminer for that job, good hires. The PA was very pleasant and just the right amount of bubbly. The doctor was very kind, gentle, and thoughtful. Very good and clear communications. The x-ray tech was also wonderful. I am truly 100% pleased with your services. It is rare these days, especially in the medical system, to be able to say I got great service all the way around. Please extend my thank yous. Bravo Dr. On Duty

Dr. Eric Jackson-Scott is amazing, along with the front desk staff and medical team at this specific DOD location. I have honestly never had a great experience at any DOD until coming to this location. Dr. Jackson is extremely thorough, caring and kind-hearted. He genuinely cares that those in his care get the appropriate care needed. It shows by his words and actions. I saw him for what turned out to be pneumonia and he called me several times to check in and confirm I was able to get my medications because there were some delays on the pharmacy’s end. It’s a great feeling when you know your doctor will advocate for you and cares that you get better. Sadly, I don’t have health insurance right now and the medical staff was very understanding. They wanted to make sure I knew the prices of diagnostics needed and resources available. Very kind of them. Thank you so much Dr. Jackson and the rest of the team!

I could not have been more pleased with my two recent visits. The Nurses and PA I saw were all incredibly kind and humble, treating me with the utmost respect. Especially my PA, who spent more time with me than I ever would have expected. Usually one gets very few minutes with a PA, but she spent at least half an hour with me, being truly concerned with my well being. I could not have been more impressed. The gratitude I have cannot be put into words!!

This review is for Dr. Eric Jackson-Scott and his team. Let me just say that this was one of the best physicians I’ve interacted with! I was in for a work injury that I thought was no big deal and I was met with humor, compassion, and empathy. His bedside manner was phenomenal and I could not recommend him enough.

I have had exceptional care with Dr. Blackstone at doctors on duty. His professionalism, thoroughness and genuine compassion are evident with each visit. He takes time to listen to my concerns, and he is the reason why I continue to go to doctors on duty. I highly recommend him and doctors on duty for quality care. The receptionists on Ocean Street doctors on duty have been exceptionally helpful as well thank you for taking such good care of me and my family.

I always feel so well taken care of at this facility. Taylor Pisano is wonderful- friendly, knowledgeable, takes time to explain the physiology behind my concerns, and makes me feel like a collaborator in my own health treatment plan. The staff are great at following up with referrals and making sure I get what I need. Thank you ❤️‍🩹

This review is simply for Dr Jackson and the crew at this location! It was honestly a pivot from the terrible experience I was originally sent to at action urgent care. Dr Jackson alone was super empathic and had amazing bed side manner his team was honestly just as good but he was the reason for this great review. He was recommended by the nurse on my workers comp case and I’m so glad I took her word and decided to drive from San Jose to see him! I’ve been seeing him since March of 2024 and his attitude and mannerisms towards me have never changed! I can honestly say despite the bad time I have had with this injury he’s made it better.
