My urologist referred me to Denise Alberto, telling me that PT would be a good idea in addition to the (expensive) medication she'd prescribed for me. I was reluctant, but I am SO happy that I got in touch with Denise. We spent much of our first appointment talking about my problem, what I'd tried, and then she did some manual therapy, showed me some exercises, talked me through how to do Kegels, and gave me homework - exercises to do daily, and changes to the way I sit. She said we'd only need six sessions, which I found hard to believe. I did the exercises, and my symptoms were noticeably better by the next week. She modified the exercises some and gave me more homework; she also encouraged me to improve my computer ergonomics (it was easy - just move my monitor a few inches!). The third appointment found me even better - she did less manual therapy and more teaching. I had my sixth and final appointment this week; I am still doing the homework, and my symptoms are almost completely gone. I am phasing out the medication (with my urologist's agreement). I even walk taller! I can't tell you how happy I am to have been referred to Denise; she cared about me and treated me as a whole person, not just a pelvic floor problem. Denise is definitely a healer - and fun to talk with, too. Come with an open mind, and be prepared to do the exercises she gives you - they made a big difference for me!

Denise worked miracles with me after two previous PT's couldn't! I had knee surgery a year ago and was still experiencing significant and recurring pain. I had almost given up believing that I could engage in all the activities (tennis, running, etc.) that I had been doing before the surgery. Denise saw me limping one day at our swim & racket club and said she thought she could help me. I made an appointment to see her and I was extremely impressed with her knowledge and treatment plan. A visit with Denise Alberto can change your life, she is brilliant at her work and works sensitively with great skill, and a sense of humor that puts you at ease. It is very common to have problems in and around the pelvis that remain unknown or are misunderstood as problems elsewhere. I have been shocked by the stories I have heard from women who had a baby and then felt like it was normal to pee themselves whenever they laughed too hard, not realising this was a problem that was eminently repairable.
