Decatur Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center

Parent has been there for 3 weeks now. There is a total of 3 of us visiting her. The communication with medication or to clean the room or the bathroom is just so so. A lot of no answers or delayed answers to all questions.

My dad was in this facility for 21 days. He had no problems or issues being there. However it did take a while for them to have my dad call me when his cell phone died. But Mrs. Ashley is the one you want to look after your loved ones! She looked after my uncle at another facility (my dad brother) and my dad at this one. Ashley kept in touch with me let me know what was going on and everything. Even when I talked with her saying how dad thought he was getting out sooner and all he wanted was a Wendy's cheese burger she went and got it for him with a frosty at no cost to me or my dad. God forbid if you ever have to have a loved one in this facility, but if you do Ashley is the provider you want.

Do not let your family go here!! Unfortunately our first choices were not available and my father went to this place. He spent 19 horrible days in the rehab. He was being SEDATED and we had NO IDEA. They failed protocol and didn’t notify family they added this medication. My father was sleeping and confused nearly all the time and we didn’t understand why. It was only the day after he left, we found out. 24 hours after leaving this horrible place my father resumed to a normal mental and physical state. As he reflects on his experiences we realize how traumatized he is bc of not only this medicine, but at how he was treated by the staff. Most are uncaring and physically rough when handling him. Also getting people that work there to call you back is virtually impossible. Please avoid this place if at all possible.

Well the staff is hard working and contentious. However the similar private rooms are totally unacceptable!! Too small. Hospital beds from the 1970s Only one television in the rooms. There are no private speakers for the residents. This made it IMPOSSIBLE to get any sleep at night! Roommate kept the Television on all night so loud you could hear it in the hallway!!! Make sure you visit and do your due diligence before making a selection I’m so sorry I put my loved one in here. Took over an hour and a half to get pain medication on two different occasions. When they pushed the call light the response is anything but timely The remodeling has the physical therapy gym closed! Kind of hard to do effective therapy with gym closed They need to get a handle on this operation!

I truly have enjoyed my experience at Decatur Health & Rehab. There is always a friendly face and a staff full of kindness and willingness to help with anything.

This place is Horrible!!!!! They don't take care of their patients they don't give their medicine on time they let them lay in their filth for hours on end!!!! these people are so non professional they need shut down!!!! THE STATE WILL BE CALLED!!!

Nurses/assistants changed daily. I was always told I don't normally work here. Food was cheap, no flavor. My father needed help eating & received none! He was left in a urine soaked bed for over a day. Had a hernia which no one revealed bed sores were not cared for correctly. When I took him home, he had pneumonia, a UTI, impacted and the list goes on. Do not put your loved ones here.
