They never offered me any GATORADE and B. How do you give someone Gatorade who is not able to have ANYTHING to eat or DRINK? By the end of the second day, the tube had completely stopped working we watched it all day, never moving, no suction ever turning on and we told the staff MULTIPLE TIMES THAT IT WAS NOT WORKING. They just kept saying oh, it’s just on low intermittent so it only pumps fluids out once it fills up…so we continued to watch it not doing ANYTHING..finally late that evening they decided to “check” it and the machine was IN FACT not working. They went and got another new machine to hook it up to, but at this point decided not to hook it up because they were finally going to give me some ibuprofen through the tube straight into my stomach. Now, mind you, they also told me NOT to take ibuprofen anymore because of the effects it has on the stomach, but they pumped it directly into my stomach???? All of my reports state that stomach had no firmness, paitent showed no signs of guarding etc. etc. from EVERYONE who came and checked on me…problem here is that my stomach was only actually physically examined maybe twice the entire time I was there. The kicker is the final report, it says that patient abdomen is soft, not distended, no pain, or rigidness and upon examination everything looked good..the problem with this is by this time I was finally allowed to have liquid and the tube was clamped off, but still in me. I was still very weak and functioning at a very low capacity and had spilled my coffee they gave me right before the person from the surgical team came to examine me prior to making this report. She walked in the door and saw me standing there trying to clean up the coffee and talked to me from the door for like 5 seconds and then left. I was NEVER examined or checked. The entire ordeal was very traumatic from the start specially when it could potentially be a matter of life or death and by then you’re too scared to try and leave to go somewhere else for care because you don’t know what will happen if you leave so you have to just stay and hope for the best. I would NEVER go back to this hospital for anything other than a routine visit at the professional building not associated with any kind of inpatient care or anything like that. This was a very terrible experience for a person who was already extremely scared about what was going on all only to get discharged and still have NO ANSWERS as to what is going on and still have the same problem I had the day I was ADMITTED, and I truly don’t feel like myself or my insurance should be responsible to pay for any of this care as there was really NONE GIVEN Picture added to show some of the contents from the tube I was left laying in

My visit began at the Lab for a blood draw. I’m not particularly find of needles but in my many visits to the lab, I've never once had an unpleasant experience. The staff are super friendly, engaging and professional. My phlebotomist was Naomi and she was caring and very skilled. The draw was over seemingly within seconds. My heartiest compliments to Kathy S., the Lab Manager. She has an excellent staff and reflects very well on the hospital.

This place needs to be shut down I am in pain I’ve been here 3 hours and everyone who have come after me has been called back the staff is rude and they don’t care about you at all… I have witnessed 3 people walk out one person that did was here almost 4 hours and wasn’t seen checked on or anything. There is trash on the floor and food on the floor. This place is sad! GO TO NORTHPORT DO NOT COME HERE FOR AN EMERGENCY. Receptionist wouldn’t even look up from her phone when I asked if there was a reason people that have come in after me went back before me with issues less life threatening than mine (trust me I had plenty time to talk to and listen to reasons people were here) if I could give them zero stars I would! The receptionist are talking about everything under the sun and laughing loudly like people that have been here for HOURS aren’t trying to nap! Election time needs to come on back around so we can put someone In office to come against this hospital in Tuscaloosa.

For the past twenty years I have had awful experiences at Regional DCH, poor quality care, tacky staff, etc. Just recently I was admitted to 5north for a hard fall. My care was excellent from emergency room to the floor. I was in 583. Staff was pleasant, caring.... Amazing. Just wanted to let you know my feelings towards Regional have changed for the good. Very pleased with this experience. Your 5 North staff should be commendedfor their caring and quality service.

I had an appointment with another facility to have a MRI done at 2:15PM; after driving 35-40 miles, I found that my appointment had been mistakenly canceled. The Medical Tower at DCH was contacted, they had a 3:30PM cancelation and was able to get me in to do my MRI. The staff, including the receptionists, and technicians were great. Thank you DCH Medical Tower.

The start was at DCH Northport Friday night and then a transfer to DCH Tuscaloosa Wednesday. I was discharged on a Saturday for a total of 9 days at DCH. Y’all, I can’t even begin to write a Daisy award because I’d be writing for weeks on end. I don’t even know how to describe how blessed I am to have had such a wonderful experience at DCH. I pray that each and every single one of the medical team, doctors, housekeeping, dietary, and volunteers are blessed tonight.

I had a same day surgery and every one was great! Started iv in my wrist and it was pretty tender. I asked when they got me to surgery could they change iv placement. Woke up in recovery and it had been changed. I appreciate being listened to because as we get older we bruise up more. Again thanks for being thoughtful to your patients needs!! Again Thanks!

My experience with physicians and all other staff rated a 5. They were all awesome!! However the facility was poorly lacking , the ER was unbelievably dirty everywhere. There was no toilet tissue in the bathrooms in the patient room areas. I told staff snd they said sorry I dint know where it’s kept. Once I was at floor I needed fluids and your facility was in short supply , they gave me part of a bag and saved the other part in case I needed it for emergency. They told me in room they were in short supply of linens so I had one towel snd washcloth for four days snd bed linens were never changed. You are in desperate need of a cleanliness/ sanitary check!
