Dr. Hanson is incredible. So thankful to be getting to work with her! The whole team has been great- there is a bit of time to wait to be seen but that just goes to show you that the need outweighs the ability to provide in the Bay Area, especially.

My daughter has been going there for almost a year now. She was diagnosed there and we continued with OT and feeding therapy. We love it! And she is so happy when she has her therapies. We work with Elizabeth for OT and Rebecca for feeding therapy. Both of them are very professional and knowledgeable. She has improved so much!

First of all, I would like to make it clear that I’ve never had a negative experience with Cortica. The wait maybe long but it’s understandable since there are so many kids need the supports and the center is always busy. I have NEVER seen a therapist/technician sitting in a room doing nothing. They are all busy here. From the receptionist to everyone in the upper office as well as therapists/technicians, they are very easy to work with and answer my questions very fast. From scheduling to benefits to ABA services, you have to find the best way to communicate with Cortica and it is through email or text messages if available. Give them sometime to response but rest assure that most of the emails are answered within their working hours. They will do their best to find a solution for your needs. Everyday when my kid arrives at the center, everyone greats her with smiles and creates a positive environment for her to participate in the sessions. They discuss with you everything after each session so you can catch up and have an idea what to do at home to play/teach/learn with your kid. I will have a more detailed about the therapist/technicians who worked with my kid when she graduates. But they are all awesome.

Our experience with this company has been absolutely awful. They have repeatedly deceived and cheated us. Initially, they told us officially that we would have to wait 2-3 months for therapy sessions, but first, we had to complete and pay for various assessments. We complied and paid for all the assessments out of our own pockets as they demanded. However, despite their assurance of a 2-3 month wait, it has now been over 6 months, and we still haven't received any response or services from them. It's clear that they are fraudulent and have been deceiving us all along. I strongly believe they are doing the same to other people as well. We have been patiently waiting for a long time, continually paying them money, yet they have taken our money without providing any service whatsoever. I urge everyone to steer clear of this company if they want to avoid being scammed and defrauded.

To be clear, this review is for ABA at home only. OT and music therapy at Cortica are great. It’s the management and supervision that is lacking proper training and communication with clients. In a short few months we went through 3 therapists and not because of the high turn over rate for all ABA teams are facing but for lack support. First therapist was so inexperienced that she quite literarily would respond “oh sorry I don’t know” when I asked about my son’s goals. The second therapist was too reserved and rarely communicated with me and had once a week cancelations. In one session she ran after my son so fast that she slipped and fell on my son’s leg. What could possibly be that important?! And the final therapist was great, we were happy. Until one day he was 10 minutes late, then I get an email from the supervisor that “hey, he has been promoted and removed from our account so wanted to keep you in the loop”. Keeping in the loop means updating the parent WHILE the changes are happening, not after the fact. When I emailed to terminate our ABA they didn’t even email me back. We’re left with no BI and have to start all over again. I gave them many chances and they couldn’t even email back an apology. I’m sure at some point this review will get a response with some excuse but it doesn’t change what I take away from the experience.

Our son had a speech therapist evaluation with Kristin. Kristin was friendly, professional, and worked great with our son. Kristin listened to our concerns, our goals and was very clear and thorough about everything. We are incredibly pleased with her and are excited to have her help our son with his speech.

We absolutely LOVE Cortica! We started 6 months ago and had an amazing progress in just 3 months! All doctors and therapists are knowledgeable, professional, experienced, and so kind! My child absolutely loves going there!

I got my kids tested here for autism. I tried to go through ABA therapy here too but they kept giving me the run around. Finally got them evaluated and almost ready for services. I was then told there would be no in-home services due to being out of area. When I was told I was in area. So I cancel that and went with another company. I came back to see if I can get him started up again. I was now told eventhough they start up and get approval last time, I have to get a physiological evaluation done on a 5 year old to start aba therapy. They say it's a insurance requirement. Eventhough it's not. How do I know? Because my last aba company did not need that and when they started him up last time they did not need that. They were great to get him tested for autism but beware of them for anything else. They don't seem to know what they are doing.
