Wonderful staff. The nurses, doctors, finance department, and social services work so well with each other and the patient to keep the patient safe and do what is needed for the best of the patient. Can’t say enough about everyone there. Nurses return phone calls and never complain no matter what you ask of them. Finance very helpful with billing questions and the filling out of forms
Lol Yeah Right
They brush a lot of crap under the rug that really should be addressed. Nurses are expected to do a disgusting amount of charting even when they don’t have time, they’re threatened with write ups and disciplinary action even if it’s work they can’t legally complete. Everything in the CNA charting is not accurate, presumably to bill the patients higher even though their levels of independence improve, they’re still listed as hoyers, ect. The food is always horrible. The staff are subjected to unsafe working conditions constantly, and managements angle is how to chart things in such a way so the company faces no backlash. Oh and morning reports where they should be discussing how to improve the company is spent gossiping about everyone they don’t like .

Food is a low budget, unhealthy and imbalanced menu despite claims on their website. How can tuna noodle casserole with a side of corn be balanced? ALL CARBS.Nothing green on the plate. Pulverized canned fruit salad. I asked a nurse if I could switch to a Diabetic diet and was told it is all the same slop made in one pot for everyone. No beverage choices--I don't want room temp coffee at night. I can not wait to get out of here, meanwhile will have family bring me some fresh fruit to survive my rehab. Feel sorry for the nice and hardworking staff.

I recommend that you don't send your loved one to this facility. They are so understaffed and some of that staff is not friendly. They are slow. You are left for hours on end sitting in a chair or wheelchair. One day my mother sat in her wheelchair for roughly 11 hours before they put her back into bed. The food is bad and served to you cold, at least my mother's was always cold. She didn't have a bath for 8 weeks in that place. My sisters had to wash her hair at least twice. After 2 months she found out she had to ask for a bath/shower or even a sponge bath. There are other disgusting things that I won't even mention. There is no communication between the place and the relatives. My sisters had to keep calling and badgering them. They couldn't even get the paperwork right so my mother could finally get discharged. She was stuck in there for 3 months. The only thing good was her physical therapy. She was in there short term for physical therapy for a hip replacement. They even had covid running through the place and still let the patients families come in to visit. And my mom did end up before being discharged getting that covid. So please do not send your loved one to this place.

Spoke with administrator today; after having a nightmare of a time getting them to answer the phone, or process a message about my mother's care correctly, I finally had to google information as to who to contact to get someone's attention, even that was incorrect... I am 1300 miles away and about to drive there and remove my mother from that facility. After spending several weeks in ICU at Albany Medical, she is extremly weak and needs assistance with most things . The staff is rude and unprofessional at best. With a few exceptions. No on call doctor, only doctor to do admissions and discharge..PA following primary care, and no consult when change in status is indicated. Mother states that she is in pain, and can't receive medication as requested. Can't use her phone and can't get assitance when needed. Very concerned as her condition has deteriorated in the last week of her being there. I will be following up and removing her if necessary, if care doesn't improve. Do your research before placing your loved ones. Even her HCP can't get through. Very disappointed, now extremly concerned.

Husband was moved into this facility today from Bassett hospital he was in Bassett for six weeks. He’s very very weak. He is not able to get up and go to the bathroom. He is unable to move very much after being in a hospital bed for six weeks They had nothing ready for him even though they knew he was coming. We had to ask twice for a meal. We told the nurse and the aid that he was wet. They let him sit in his wet for three hours from 5 o’clock until after eight at 8 o’clock. I asked for a head nurse that’s when the staff came in and changed him. I hope that things improve and it was just because he was a new patient and they weren’t ready for him

Too many Care Plan protocols not used/followed. Unsafe measures used. Billing errors and transfers of money very questionable. I should not have to check facilities records and straighten out. Very questionable as to what went on. Medicaid has been alerted.

My mom went to the center for rehab after her total knee replacement. She was supposed to have a pillow under her foot, but she was only allowed one pillow. I had to bring the required pillows from home. They didn't allow my mom to get out of bed. She was supposed to be walking multiple times a day. PR and OT came to see her once and did not give her exercises to do on her own. She was supposed to get guided PT every single day. There is one doctor for the entire facility and he works seven days a week. The food was awful(juice was served instead of actual fruit, etc.) The Center is understaffed and neglectful. They did not even change her surgical dressing. She had on the original dressing from surgery for TWO WEEKS. She was told she was only allowed a sponge bath once a week and that they did not wash hair! They endangered her well being. We even had to go to the emergency room because her room gave her migraines and confusion; I also got a migraine being in her room and spent time in the er being treated as well. Do NOT let your family go to the Cooperstown Center. Privatization was the worst thing that happened to that facility and now the staff is neglecting patient care because they are so understaffed and under stocked. I will be filing official complaints. I am appalled. But there is no covid in house. That's something.
