This place is less than a 1 star. Patients will sit in their own urine and/or poop until the lazy nurses decide they can take the time to do their job. You will be told “they’ll be alright until we get there” which is usually hours later. PLEASE do not send your family here. The nurses are incompetent and rude and it’s just a disgusting place. The sheets appear to be 20 years old, walls dripping with disgust. And the food is worst than dog food. Awful.

Called this facility 3 times, 1st try the phone rang for quite a while and then finally picked up so I waited for a greeting and when none was given I said hello multiple time and asked if anyone was there then got hung up on mid sentence, 2nd try which was as long as it takes to redial from the first call (about 5-10 seconds) the phone rung until the line disconnected, and the best one in my opinion, the 3rd attempt at calling the phone immediately picked up on the second or third ring and all I heard is an irritated sign and a lady yell at me “HOLD ON MAAM!” (in my opinion this was extremely unprofessional behavior for a healthcare worker or really anyone but could just be me) was repeatedly taken on and off of hold (with nothing said because I was put back onto hold everytime I spoke) for about 10-15 minutes until i finally just gave up on the task and decided to attempt to find the answers myself. I have not met anyone from this facility face to face nor do I wish to because this makes everyone there seem extremely rude and uncaring and it seems like the majority of these reviews agree. I DO NOT want to call your numbers nor email you but I do urge you to take all of our reviews into consideration because no matter how much you say that “this is not a good reflection of our facility” let’s face it if this many people have negative thoughts on your facility things need to be changed like oh I don’t know how to make a proper introduction on the phone or maybe some manners. But you do you and eventually the negativity will catch up to this place. I hope for everyones sake that a lot of things change. Have the day you deserve.

I was there for 2 wks. The first day I was overwhelmed with kindness. Every one was so kind and sweet. It is a great place to be to be able to heal. I also made a lot of friends. I will come back and visit

Tonight for supper was one scoop of rice that's supposedly was supposed to be chicken and sausage gumbo and 14 pieces of fried okra in one oatmeal cookie. They're making these people starve. CNA tells me they're in a budget cut

This is not a professional, nor caring environment. I have called for my brother who is a patient staying there. Can not ever get anyone to answer the phone sit on hold for 7-10 minutes at a time. His catheter bag has been so full before when I got there it had fallen of the side of the bed due to the weight. When emptied, the bag refilled to about a 1/4 full. He had felt pressure since the next before. I have heard the staff hollering down the hallway to answer him while we were talking on the phone, he had requested help with something and did not have a call light. One response I heard was "we busy" screamed from the nursing station. Please take this into consideration before placing a loved one in this facility.

I chose to leave this facility AMA rather than risk my health and well-being. It's a lousy dumping ground go people who have no immediate family in the area

I was very impressed with the friendliness and professionalism of the staff I met. Very nice people. Also, the current Director of Nursing, and I know this from first hand experience, is someone who is not only extremely dedicated and takes his job seriously, but is also very good at what he does And he has done a wonderful job of putting together an excellent team of good, hardworking staff that care about the residents and will provide them with the top notch care they deserve. Many positive changes happening in this facility and I am sure more to come in the upcoming new year!!

Please read if you are considering this facility. My sister was in an assisted living facility prior to coastal. She ended up having to have surgery and was sent to coastal for rehabilitation. Once there they "dold us the dream" by telling us all the things they could do for her that the previous thing could not, if she was a long term (live in) patient. My first clue should have been how rude the social worker BETH JONES was early on, but I thought nothing much of it, knowing it's probably a stressful job. Then they started telling me that I needed to get her on Medicaid Which I was pretty sure I had done, but maybe it had lapsed (which it hadn't). They also asked me to put large sums of money in a "trust account" with them for her everyday spending, and they would manage it. Within a month they called and told me that they had to send her to the state hospital to get her "medication adjusted " and she would come back to Coastal once that was done. As soon as she was at the state hospital they informed Me that she could NOT come back That I had less then 2 weeks to remove her belongings , Which I live 12 hours away, and they would not respond to phone calls or emails. I had to get a lawyer involved to get them to give my sister her money they had in a "trust ", and now have to find other placement for her. PAULA HAZEL AND BETH JONES DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR PATIENT'S, OR THE FAMILYsTHEY HURT. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE
