CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Outpatient Therapy

My daughter has been going twice a week for rehab to her right leg. She has shown amazing improvements and the main two therapist we see are amazing.

The therapists were great. I had an ACL rebuilt and this is where i did my therapy. The problem is we did 20 sessions of therapy and it was decided by my therapist that more therapy was needed. I was told that they would have to preapprove more sessions through my insurance. I was out of work at the time and could not pay for more sessions if insurance was not going to cover them. 3 days later they called me and said we are preapproved and we scheduled 10 more visits of therapy. Fast forward 3 months and i start receiving bills from them saying i owe over $6000 dollars for 8 visits of physical therapy. They "according to my insurance" never got me preapproval for more PT and i was liable for the extra visits. Now cash paying customers pay less than $180 a visit (i cant get them to answer the phone to tell me for sure the cash price), and my insurance (since we have a plan discount) pays $185 a visit. So either way the 8 visits to should cost less that $1500. But i was told 12/22/2020 that they would settle the bill for $3000 if i could pay them before the end of December 2020. I don't understand how either a cash paying customer or my insurance company would pay less than me, especially on their mistake. I have spoken to the business office on several occasions and they tell me there is nothing they can do, that they have takin my file to the executors and they will not let me pay any less. They talk about caring for patients but they are just a bunch of thieves. It is worth noting that i did reach my max out of pocket for the year in question for the surgery and all this is on top of that. They have now put me in collections. I have told them on multiple occasions that i will be happy to pay for services rendered but i will not be taken advantage of.

1. Disclosed all medical insurances to front counter, yet they bill to Medicare Part B which is not part of my medical insurances. And the billing is for outrageous, criminal amount of $4,000 for 8 sessions of 30 min each over period of 4 wks. Those 8 @ 30 minutes therapy is not worth anything close to $4,000 and results of all 8 therapeutic sessions resulted in only slight improvement in reduction of arthritic pain and joint stiffness (both hands). Overcharging. 2. This facility does not give an estimate Before treatment for the est. costs of these 8 treatments which they should do given the exorbitant amount they plan to charge. The patients can then decide if the want such treatments in the first place!!! This set up looks like a con game played by certain medical facilities and physicians. You as a patient should have come across such med institutions and physicians in the past. DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY. I HAVE AND WILL FILE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS TO THEM, AND TO STATE AND FED AUTHORITIES. I HAVE CALLED THEM AT THEIR BILLING DEPT. AND LAST CALL NO ONE ANSWERED THEIR PHONE.
