If you wanna work here, don’t. Jailyn is the whole reason me and another employee had quit, they need to get Levi back. The residents are so sweet but Jailyn and a couple CNAs seem to not care about their residents much less her employees. I have a 5 month old I have to leave work at a certain time for, but apparently they don’t do “special schedules” anymore so Jailyn is basically (meaning she didn’t tell me directly but that’s how she came across) telling me to work longer or get another job while they don’t even need me there for the full 8 hours, they over hired. Yes, this review is how I’m telling y’all I quit.

This is the most wonderful place in North Georgia! We were in crisis mode and they held my hand and walked us through the process. I would recommend them above any other facility! My Mom is happy and the care is Phenomenal! The food is good too!

I wanted to transfer my father here and had his current facility send all the paperwork requested to Chelsey Park admissions. I called several times leaving messages for an update and to this day (weeks later) no one has returned my call. I was told by the facility my dad is in that the offer had been rescinded but Chelsey Park would not give a reason. My contact at A Place for Mom stated that they have a new admissions person. Obviously, they still need a new admissions person.

My boyfriends father went from assisted living to a hospital for a week and then on to Chelsey for rehabilitation. The facilities are beautiful. He enjoyed the food and the company of other patients and nurses. The CNAs Jamie and Katie were so compassionate and the charge nurse Vivian was such a huge help when he passed away there. He was 85 and a blood clot took him from us. I highly recommend this facility for those loved ones that thrive on attention, compassion and dedication while making sure he did his physical therapy every day. God bless the people at Chelsey.

My mother is 90 and we needed to find a rehabilitation center after she broke her hip in March 2016. I just read the negative review posted last week and it is clear that this family had a bad experience. I trust that the administrator is addressing the personnel who did not do their jobs properly.I am writing this review because we had a hard time finding reviews for Chelsey Park, and I hope this will help give a balanced perspective on the quality of the center. We were very impressed with both the staff and services at Chelsey Park in Dahlonega. I liked that this center is run by a state-wide non-profit that provides health services rather than a for-profit corporation. The facility is brand new, beautifully designed with views of the mountains- it felt like she was staying in a resort. The staff are real people and super friendly. The place has a friendly, small town culture where every one knows your name. My mother said the nurses were very nice, concientous and professional. She really liked the physical therapy staff and she said that they spent plenty of time with her twice a day to help her recover her mobility. Chelsey Park has a "Main Street" wing where they simulate real-life activities: getting in and out of an actual car, getting out of a soft sofa, and practicing shopping in an market. My mother said that the food was excellent. Charlie is a wonderful chef and is happy to customize the meal for the needs of the patient. They let family visitors have dinner for just $3 per person so I can attest to how good the food is. They did a great job in keeping the room, sheets and facility clean. My mother said that the staff was very responsive whenever she rang the buzzer. She did not like the idea of have a male assistant take her to the bathroom, and they accommodated her wishes. She always had a female assistant help her shower. I was amazed when the staff told me that they get together each morning and pray for the patients - I bet that does not happen in many rehab centers! A couple concerns: They said that they would shower her every other day, and it did not happen that often. My mother says that was partly a problem of timing since she had to be dressed in time for her physical therapy session when the staff arrived to give her a shower. Also, my mother said that the bed was too hard so we brought in a mattress cover from home.

These are my personal beliefs: Cannot believe this place defines themselves as a nursing home. They have the gumption to say they care for neurological needs. Big laugh there. My loved one needed rehab after a lengthy hospitalization and was complicated by Parkinson's disease. The environment allowed for his falling out of bed two times on the first two days. They insisted after two days for me to facetime him and handle his confusion. It is apparent to me they wanted him out of the facility. Next day the staff sent him out to a hospital without the agreed upon resuscitation plan. They called me and asked that I undo their mistake by calling the hospital emergency. Problem was they didn't even know where he had been taken. This should have been their responsibility to call and mitigate their error. My husband was thriving at the previous rehab environment. After 3 days being a resident, my husband died, and they've never called to express condolences. I'd heard harsh reviews on this facility. I wish I'd listened.

My dad fell while he was here. No one seems to have an answer as to why or how long he was down for. No incident report, no follow up. They didn't even have my mom's correct number to call her and tell her he was being taken to the hospital, even though she wrote it down in multiple places for it to be corrected and it was hanging on a piece of paper in his room. The night nurse had her correct number though and she called to ask my mom where he was. So it seems there's no communication in this place, the notes the nurses take don't seem to help the next. He had a nephrostomy bag that needed to be emptied every hour and a half or so, that wasn't taken care of the way it needed to be. If you have a loved one that requires more than just a little help, find somewhere else. As nice as the facility is and some of the staff are, they don't have their stuff together.

Do not send your loved on to this facility, nor be fooled by the beautiful furnishings and setting. It's a lovely place, and I am sure perfect for some patients that are somewhat self sufficient. However, if you need to have your diaper changed, you can expect to lay in poop for a long time. I just sat back over the past couple of weeks and witnessed the nurse drop the cup that she pours his tube feeding fluid into on the floor and pick it up of the floor and continue to use it. Also, my dad had pooped his pants and the sheets still had poop on them. They just cleaned him up and left. I had to go get a nurse and go ask her if this was normal and "shouldn't the sheets be changed". So they went and got a clean sheet and placed it under him. When we come to visit, his urinal bottle is full and and we have to empty it. The CNA's would say they would be right back, and never return. We knew a week ahead of time that my dad would be discharged on Friday. When we asked who would provide the IV pole and tell us how to perform his feedings (ie., what time, how much, where do we get the food etc.) we were told not to worry. Well, everything fell through the cracks as the discharge person at Chelsea Park no longer works there and this entire process has been so unnecessarily stressful and frustrating for my family that I wouldn't want to wish that place on my worst enemy. It's one o'clock in the afternoon right now and he is on his way home. He is scheduled for a feeding at two. If we didn't have our own private CNA I don't suppose he would be eating today. They haven't even told us yet when to expect the first nurse visit - he's on his way home and everyone is still trying to figure that out. Its 5:30 and still don't know when the first nurse home visit will be, other than not today. Check the reviews for CareSouth to see how home health care goes.
