This is my first ever review because I just am not that person to care that much but I do feel very neglected and unsatisfied. I came in from out of town visiting my grandparents, I was bit by my dog 9/08/2024 when he was trying to get too rough with my sisters dog. I being an animal lover tried to quickly disperse the fight from happening and in the time of doing so lost my finger tip as my hand went directly into the dogs mouth. My father rushed me to the ER which there was ZERO signs say what side of the building the ER entrance. Going in the doors the wouldn't even OPEN some one inside had to push a button so I had to stand waiting outside with my hand gushing blood for the doors to GET opened instead of every other emergency room on earth having AUTOMATIC opening Doors . I get into a room the computer isn't working, the nurses do not seem to know what to do at all right away. They were missing several medical devices, nurses did not know where items were. They left me for over a hour with no pain medication and my finger literally missing. They had everything there to fix my hand but didn't feel they could. I was not properly cleaned up to be completely sanitized. I was sent home with a giant open would wrapped in gauze and told to go hike to the doctors in my town and they could fix it. So I have to wait two days when the Emergency room in my state would of fixed it then and there. Nurses sitting on go homes and no quickness or really any kind of emergency care at all. Very unprofessional it was like they were residents. Very unhappy and worried my finger isn't going to make it another day with out more damage. DO NO GO HERE IF YOURE OUT OF STATE GO TO RAPID CITY IF YOU CAN. 0/0 I could of done what they did for me at home. They did great and were very nice about numbing it up. However the lack of care and compassion for tending to someone who was clearly in shock and extreme pain. Do better be more attentive be a doctor and nurse that's your job. Stop sitting around and talking figure things out that's your job. Do better. Thank you. I can't wait for the giant bill as well!

If I could give 0 stars I would. I’m a former patient to this zoo. Do not see Shuckman. She has been sued and almost killed a young woman by birth control implant. Patient won law suit. So much more about her that’s detestable. Also Kristin Johnson. Don’t see her either. Only 2 good doctors here are McLain and sutera. This place has people quitting all the time and has lowest grade in rural hospital in Nebraska. Go to Gordon, rapid city, not here.

For the last 30 years I'm happy to say my family and I have not needed to go to the hospital. But whenever we did need to go everyone has been friendly, professional and helpful. I appreciate that am them. Thank you for caring for my girls and myself!

Horrible billing - it’s too bad I can’t give them a negative star rating. They billed over $675 for a physical. Nearly every line on the bill was incorrectly coded. I even had the insurance company try to straighten it out with them. Will never be back unless it’s an emergency. BE WARNED!

This is by far the worst hospital I have ever been to. The staff is unprofessional and all they do is gossip; it seems as though they don’t communicate to each other at all and all they do is sit around on their phones. I saw several different medical professionals here and not a single one even tried to figure out what was wrong with me, they just kept prescribing different things to mask my symptoms. They never called me back with my lab results like they said they would and when I called to ask for them they said the doctor would call me back. She also never returned my call. I only got them because my doctor from back home called them and requested for my information to be transferred. After my last ER visit they implied there was nothing wrong with me and that they didn’t want to see me again. Hopeless, I went home to receive care and I ended up having to have surgery because I had a tumor. Their billing department is also horrible and impossible to get ahold of. I was instructed to email somebody and I have emailed her twice in a professional manner with insurance information, yet never received a response to either of them after months and none of my information has been updated. I stopped by again today and they were out of the office for unknown reasons. I’m sure there are individuals in this hospital great at what they do, but they are few and far and I did not have the pleasure to experience working with any of them.

My kid's pediatrician is amazing here! She gets 5 stars! The rest of the hospital is definitely trained to treat the symptoms of your problems and send you on your way. This is fine if you have a minor infection or just need antibiotics. I would be concerned if there were something seriously wrong with me and I had to go here. I lived in Rapid City area for several years. Don't be deceived, Rapid City hospital is exactly the same, but bigger. They will also only treat your symptoms and then send you home. So, driving 2 hours doesn't necessarily get you better care. If you think there's something seriously wrong with you, seek out a specialist if you can afford it! Since the old community hospital is being torn down, I really hope that area is going to be used for the community, and not sold to a land developer to put apartments in! It should be made into part of Wilson Park or a community center as it was a COMMUNITY hospital building, and not privately owned!

I have a brother that is currently in Chadron Community Health Center with severe heart and kidney issues. I just returned to my home after a 3 day visit. I was so impressed with the hospital and staff, the people are beyond and are very knowledgeable at what they do. They were willing to answer any questions and if they didn’t know something they would find the information, the communication was great. Chadron is very lucky to have this facility and staff at their disposal!!

I really hate to leave one star, because the ER doc did in fact help me, but the rest of the staff was so terribly unprofessional, and worse, they lacked common sense, and professionalism. Maybe I was just unlucky, and ended up with a few who didn’t believe in their very important job, we’re lazy and maybe to them it’s just a pay check. And to those folks I say get out; your position is too important for a lackadaisical attitude , a position that involves peoples lives! I should add there was one nurse (in her mid 50s), she must’ve been going off shift because I only saw her once, but she was very compassionate and yet professional. She seemed sincerely concerned with my condition. I want to thank her. PS- get off your cell phones and quit your gossiping , not all patients are deaf.
