I recently took my son to the ER after a fall, and I was thoroughly impressed with the care we received. As a hospital employee who recently moved from the lower 48, I wasn't sure what to expect, but the experience was comparable, if not better, than what I've seen at much larger hospitals. From the moment we walked in, the staff was attentive, compassionate, and professional. They made sure he felt comfortable and took the time to explain every step of his treatment, which helped put us both at ease. The wait time was reasonable, and we felt like he was in excellent hands the entire time. Iām so grateful for the team who turned a potentially stressful situation into such a positive experience. Highly recommend this ER for anyone needing emergency care!

The imaging department is pretty good and the Lab technicians are great and almost never have to stick you twice. as far as having your blood drawn goes I've definitely been to worse places . The cafeteria is top notch so much so that I stop in more than most other restaurants in town. I especially love the biscuits and gravy in the morning and you'll never beat the price of a burger and fries or tater tots!

I have nothing but good things to say about CPH. I have been seen by numerous departments (Cardiology, Gastro, Radiology, Lab, ORTHO, ER, and ICU). On every occasion, I have been treated with kindness, quality, and generosity. I was recently admitted (through th ER) and subsequently discharged after 2 1/2 days from the ICU. I might add, the ER staff were on me like White on Rice. I received excellent care from everyone! I would love to name names, but I would inevitably leave someone out. Everyone from the doctors, nurses, CNA's, and housekeeping services were excellent. No-one ever left my room in the ICU without first asking, "Is there anything I can do or get for you before I leave?". SPH is closer to my home, but I will always choose CPH.

My husband went in for many visits as he was getting older. Our treatment from everyone was kind and efficient. He all of a sudden had a bad downturn and within five days was gone. In that five days many people were active to help diagnose and then eventually, keep him comfortable, until he Passed. I was impressed with all services and kindness! Thank you all....

I shattered my humerus and was taken emergently to CPH by my husband. It was the worst experience I have ever had!! My husband and I are both physicians and we cannot believe how inappropriately we were treated. My humerus was broken in 3 places and the orthopedic surgeon placed me in a makeshift splint and a lame sling and told me to follow up in the morning. I could feel the bones crunching on themselves, that is how unstable it was, and that was all I was told. Thankfully I had orthopedic surgeon friends in Anchorage who were able to get me in immediately for surgery the next day. I am appalled and embarrassed that there are people in my profession that can be as uncaring and non-knowledgeable about their patients and their specialty and are permitted to practice medicine. It's unfortunate the only acceptable other option for care is to travel 3 hours up to ANC.

TL;DR: When it comes to heart issues CPH will just let you die. But don't worry, they'll get paid first. Always. šø š° š¤ š² šµ š šŖ¦ JUST GO TO ANCHORAGE. So, this is a doozy. And long in the making. Because I tired of the Medical negligence on the peninsula. They can keep expanding their hospital but they do a terrible job at the rest of it. My mother, clearly having heart issues. Got a heart monitor from the hospital wore it for the time she was supposed to. Got it removed and three days later they tell her. "They couldn't get any data and would order a new one and try again." Now she's running at less then 40% heart function for almost a month now. Has other issues and it wasn't making her any better. Couple days later she checks in, because she's feeling worse. Low and behold "No order got written and they'd get back to her by next week." Like excuse you? She has HEART ISSUES and they are being completely neglectful and negligent in their duties to someone they know has a heart condition that's deteriorating. So she had to go to Anchorage and no surprise Alaska Regional is giving her the surgery and care she needed a month ago. Apparently Soldotna is only good at hospice. Really bad hospice at that. Back in 2010 my father had similar issues and again. They chocked up his death as "undiagnosed heart condition." No kidding. You have to do your job to actually diagnose it. But, since they can't even write an order for a new monitor effectively. I wonder if we have to pay for it? I think not. No data, equal no pay.

I've been an admit patient and outpatient. The staff was wonderful. The nurses very sweet, helpful and great at their job. Food was good, all services were very accommodating. I found the hospital clean and inviting.

Went to the ER with my son yesterday for a sore throat and they tried to throw every test in the book at him before even getting his blood work back. Wouldn't listen to me about it. Told me I dont know what I'm talking about and that we need to proceed with more tests (before getting results from bloodwork) I stepped in and stopped them, sure enough blood work comes back i was 100% right. These nurses see a dollar sign when you walk through that door. I would have left with an extremely large bill for absolutely no reason if I had taken their advice. Don't let these doctors and nurses just do whatever they want.
