Facility does not practice drills to evacuate residents in case of Fire,Flood or Entrapment issues due to a disaster. All staircases are empty and have ZERO anchors, eye-lits or harnesses to remove residents safely. Fire system is outdated from the 80's and malfunctions constantly, there is not enough staff per residents, the care is bad and residents suffer constantly. I witnessed a resident being abused constantly and reported many times to Administrator but it fell on deaf ears, the employee was never reprimanded or relieved of his position, resident did past shortly after.Maintenance team has no technical training in Electric systems 480 volt or 3 phase systems, they will find themselves in a bad situation leaving the residents to fend for themselves incase of a ELECTRICAL FIRE.....in 2.5 years we NEVER did a drill on how to propel residents safely from upper floors.....Tragedy waiting to happen ....

**UPDATE** Pretty funny how you can reply to my google review to make it look like your company cares, however it has been 2 weeks and there has been ZERO follow through. If I could give negative stars I was sad it forced me to give 1 star. Day 1, we couldn't even get past day 1, my father is on hospice and was sent somewhere that is supposed to be safe. Prestige was far from that. I must admit after working in a nursing home, and trust me I know no one wants to be in one, but what a disappointment Prestige in Anchorage is!!! My dad just got sent there today and we walked in at dinner time to see him sitting on the edge of a bed, which sitting up without support is difficult and to top it off the lady feeding him was so worried about him making a mess she was feeding him naked?! Who eats naked? Where is the dignity in that. Add to it he is on pureed foods for Swallowing and choking issues and she was feeding him regular food with bread, which is a definite no no. There was no bed alarm and he is a severe fall hazard, and the bed had the smallest side rail I've ever seen and it was only by his head. Pretty sad when you are to afraid to leave your loved one somewhere for the care and safety they are supposed to get and they aren't getting it. Needless to say my dad is home where he's safer. Like Response from the owner2 weeks ago Hi Chris, we take these claims seriously and are in the process of investigating this further. We will reach out to you directly to further discuss your concerns.

After less than 24-hours at facility, Prestige discharged elderly disoriented patient after removing his IV medication without consulting with a doctor, his POA, or even friends/family. Sent elderly high-fall-risk patient who was unable to stand or use rest room without assistance HOME ALONE on a holiday weekend with no follow-up care. Was sassy and disrespectful when confronted about potentially lethal non-communication protocols. Patient ended up in ER next day, and admitted back into hospital.

At Prestige, the care the number of care staff divided by the number patients they have to care for per shift. There are nurses, CNA's, to care for the patients, but some requests for service goes unanswered. Level of care is lower than it was at St. Elias. The Wi-Fi works here though. PT and OT works pretty hard getting their to improve their overall health, but it's not an hour and half to two hours daily, it's more like half of that. Accept every opportunity for a workout, don't refuse a workout. It's to your advantage to improve your health at every chance they offer it. There's bible study class on Thursdays at 2PM, Sundays Catholic service 11AM, interdenominational service 2PM. Their food quality needs to be tightened up better to be heart healthy and plant-based diet friendly. Some of their foods are very high sodium. They at least don't always overcooked the protein. More fresh fruit needs to be offered with every meal, not canned fruit.

The nurses get a 5 star rating but the management gets a 1. The nurses were awesome, but the management and their rules dealing with Hospice patients with Covid was horrid. Think twice if you are on Hospice and your using them for Respite Care. Find out their policy if your loved one gets Covid while they are there.

Kind, compassionate staff. Hard working nurses and genuinely caring administration. PT is out of this world. I have worked in health care for many years and have never worked with such conscientious staff before. No one ever wants or plans to need skilled nursing care, but if it was to happen to my own family or myself, I would not hesitate to recommend this facility.

I checked in to find my loved one was still in the disposable underwear they had on when we'd checked in the day before. It was disinigrating beneath her. When I complained my loved one was put on the spot and questioned by the director as if she'd done something wrong. They also did not administer the medication as directed by her physician. Nor did they give her ANY physical therapy in 5 days. Most of the staff, however, is very kind.

I give them one star because negative stars was not an option. If you want a "care facility" to completely deplete funds in what is much higher than usual and customary charges, this is the place for you. If being lied to is something you enjoy on a regular basis, this is the place for you. Luckily, since the State got rid of the criminal social worker/manager who worked here before, things improved with the exception of the State having to cover their tracks on formal inspections and complaints that were so bad that they should have closed the place down. What this place did to our family is not something I would wish on anyone.
