"Un"Carrington place does not deserve any stars. It was the most horrible 2 weeks. I had a broken ankle and could not put any weight on it. So, unfortunately I was bed ridden. First problem is slow response time after I hit the a call button. Two plus hours to wait for assistance to use the bedside commode. It happened a few times. Twice I had to call their main line to get assistant. Also, waiting 1-2 hours for pain medication is ridiculous and unacceptable. I had my rescue Inhaler taken away from me. Their "pharmacist" told me albuterol was not a rescue Inhaler. When they were sending me to the hospital for surgery, they gave the hospital someone elses medical records. I was supposed to be an out patient for surgery, but I told the hospital that I didn't feel safe at Carrington Place and refused to go back. So please don't send yourself or your loved one to Carrington Place for any reason. They definitely need their license revoked.

I would NEVER send a family member to this facility, or be a staff member here!!!! I worked in this facility for a total of 3 1/2 days and quit. I have seen and received some of the most awful treatment from management, this is a facility that needs to be shut down or needs a new management (mainly a new DON, Kristy Bailey is a god awful one) I could say so many other awful things about this place, but will leave it at DON’T WORK OR SEND FAMILY HERE)

Nestled in the mountains of SWVA this facility offers an excellent array of nursing and therapy services for optimum health and rehabilitation experience. Other departments including social work, activities, dietary and housekeeping delivers care in interdisciplinary level to supplement the health and recovery efforts provided by clinical staff in patient- cenetered care approach. Nursing and rehabilitattive care offers diverse treatment alternatives delivering highest quality amongst the state and national levels . Multidisciplinary, patient centered approaches delivered by quality driven staff makes this facility an excellen facility for optimum level of care . I am blessed to have find this facility and glad to see patients recover and achieve their highest level of health and fitness .

This place is dark and depressing colors. What are they thinking? My dad was in there and he told them he had to go number 2, there aid said just go in your diaper and I’ll get it later! Really, he was not kept clean, the place is so depressing, because of the dull nasty colors they have, and the dirtiness of the place my father was a veteran and raise three boys, he deserves better respect than that, but these new generation peoples just don’t care, would not recommend ps we took him out

If I didn't have to give a star to get this posted, I wouldn't. Unfortunately, I had to place my father in Carrington Wytheville nursing facility 8 months ago as there are no other nursing homes in Wythe Co VA. I would like to share our terrible experience with this facility. My father was alert and aware of all things in his life. He was miserable at the nursing home and was afraid to ask staff for help when he needed it. I was only able to visit Dad every other day as I have a full time job. I had to repeatedly ask nursing staff to provide personal care for him that they should have been doing on a routine basis as part of the care that he paid to receive. Only when I repeatedly got upset with the situation did they do as I requested and then it was rare that I was able to find a nursing assistant who actually cared. He would go days without being shaved and he always shaved himself daily until moving to the nursing home. I would find him with food on his shirt and two days later, he had the same dirty shirt on. I requested staff to help him brush his teeth (natural teeth), they NEVER did in the 6 months he resided there. I helped him brush his teeth because staff wouldn't. I asked staff regularly to have the podiatrist cut his toenails and that was also never done in the 6 months he was there. My point in this is, family members should not have to ask nursing home staff to do what they are paid to do for the patients in their care. And family members should not have to be the ones to provide personal care for their loved ones who are paying a lot of money to the facility to provide adequate care. There are lots of other situations that I could share but I just want to say that if there are any alternative places for your elderly family members to receive nursing care, please stay away from Carrington Place.

I had to place my dad in Carrington place after he became very I'll. He was as weak as a newborn baby. After only two weeks of physical therapy with a great therapist, my dad regained alot of his strength back. I learned three days ago my dad has stage four terminal cancer. This was heartbreaking to hear. I was with my dad every day almost. My daughter was there as much as she could be, being she worked out of town. The staff did an absolute outstanding job taking care of my dad, while he was there. I took it upon myself to take care of his hygiene. The aids would assist me if I needed them to with anything. Every nurse that that was in contact with him was great. The compassion and care the staff showed me and my dad was greatly appreciated. The administrator there went out of his way to insure my father was getting the best care possible. I and my daughters were and are so very grateful for that. I had a very stressful day, today, because arrangements had to be made to take him home. Again, the administrator and nurses took care of getting him discharged and transported home. I want to thank everyone that did an absolute, outstanding job and the compassion and care for my father. Thank you and GOD BLESS all of you.

Great place to live and work. Staff work very hard to meet all the needs of every resident. Dietary, housekeeping, therapy, and nursing services are top notch!! Friendly, home like atmosphere.
