Carolina Prime Physical Therapy

First, I want to thank everyone at Carolina Prime Physical Therapy for all of the help they gave me to get me better. I had both knees replaced, and they were done 10 weeks apart. I had the right knee done first and I started with in home therapy and it was great. After a few months I had to transfer to out patient therapy and this led me to Carolina Prime Physical Therapy. Everyone was great, the ladies in the front office and all of the Physical Therapy people. I went there so long that I was able to work with almost everyone. The in home physical therapy for my first knee was great, but it was limited because we did not have access to any equipment. When I started to go to Carolina Prime for my first knee, they had me using the equipment to get me stronger, but shortly thereafter I had the surgery on my other knee. During this surgery my doctor did forced manipulation on my first knee to help the knee bend more. I immediately started out-patient therapy at Carolina Prime for the other knee. It was a lot of work and unfortunately there was also pain involved, but it made my knee better. After several months of physical therapy both of my knees were better and I was discharged. Just a quick note about my knees. The right knee (which was done first) has less bend then the left knee (which I started immediately with out-patient therapy). If at all possible, and if you are able to, I would recommend out-patient physical therapy.

Scott and Heather Forest are the owners of Carolina Prime Physical Therapy. Both are the best you will ever find. My first visit was with Alex who is also a very good therapist. I was in a lot of pain with my tailbone. I could not sit without pain. He referred me to Heather who is a Pelvic Floor Specialist. She is very good. I can now sit and travel without pain. Scott continued my therapy working on my back pain, hip, balance control and to strengthen my legs. He is one of the best you will ever find. I drove from north of Lenoir to Wikesboro. It was almost an hour drive, It was worth it.

All of the therapist were very professional. With their help my recovery from surgery went extremely well. Everyone was very friendly and made your visit Pleasant. I would recommend them to anyone that needs any type physical therapy. I would like to say a personal thank you to all at Carolina prime physical therapy.

About two years ago I had an MRI on my back and was told it was a matter of time until I would lose use of my legs and be wearing diapers. The neurologist said PT “might” help. Thankfully my Wilkes doctor referred me to Carolina Prime where I work with two therapists in a regular basis. One for my back and the other for my pelvic floor. In addition to extreme back pain I was dealing with numbness across my pelvic floor and down one leg, incontinence, and frequent urination (10 or more trips to the bathroom in 24 hours which greatly impacted my sleep). I was nervous to get too far from a bathroom. With therapy and my at home assignments (not always as diligent as I could be) my pain has gone from maybe a 6 or 7 or even more at times to a 2, incontinence is minimal and I finally have 0 numbness. I’m nearing 70 and will go to Carolina Prime until they kick me out.

I struggled for over a year with severe pelvic pain. After an erroneous endometriosis diagnosis and a witch-hunt of a hysterectomy at 27 years old, I was left wondering if I would ever find relief...then entered Heather Forrest! From my first appointment, Heather proved compassionate and highly educated. While her credentials on paper speak for themselves, upon meeting with her, it was immediately clear to me that she actively listens to her patients and takes her commitment to continuous professional education very seriously for their sake. PT requires you to devote time to form habits of self-care outside of regular appointments; there were times during my treatment when "life got in the way," and I regressed due to my inaction. During these times, Heather was incredibly encouraging and motivated me to prioritize the time needed for my health. Overall, I credit Heather for giving me the care and tools I needed to reclaim a high quality of life and pelvic health. If you're reading this, I highly recommend you book an appointment with Heather - she is a lifesaver!

The therapists are highly knowledgeable and ready to offer assistance with any questions and the equipment usage. They will work with you to get you back to 100% in the most efficient manner. Great group of therapists!

I have been suffering with lower back pain for years. At times I have had difficulty standing for long periods and more recently began having numbness in one leg. My dr recommended Carolina Prime over a year ago and now my quality of life has been greatly improved. Scott, Heather, Elizabeth and the others have been wonderful.
