This clinic seems to only have one or two real physical therapists but you usually wont work with them. They are just used to do evaluations and supervise the assistants and aides. The rest of the “therapists” there are either PT assistants or PT aides which are actually two distinct levels of certification. One PTA was quite good in the pool but some are dismally undertrained. The aides are not required to have any formal education while the assistants have a 2 year degree. You may not know which you're getting but I knew it was a bad sign when the gal working with me had to go and ask another assistant what each of the exercises on my chart actually were. She wasn't familiar with them and how they should be properly performed. That is a recipe for an injury in my opinion. She was confused the entire session. In addition, the front desk staff is rude and arrogant. The front desk manager, who has been there for some time, is clearly in charge of the entire operation but sadly has no clinical experience. I called to ask that they warn the therapist that I had been referred for a somewhat uncommon diagnosis, so that the therapist could research and be prepared. She snarked back, “I’ve seen cases of X before. It’s not that uncommon.” Well, she's the desk staff so it doesn't matter if she's seen that before because she's not treating patients. When I arrived, the therapist was unaware, unfamiliar and had to delay my session to do research on my condition. I'm sure this used to be a good facility but either due to lack of PTs or to reduce costs, they are using lesser-trained staff to interact with and treat the patients. There's no excuse for the terrible front desk staff unfortunately.

I do not go because it takes a month and they are too busy for patients. They have five stars. But I did not go because they are rude at least the person I spoke to was rude. Is this how they weed out people that are committed to going to pt. This person could have been busy and told me that.

Front desk sucks! They don't motivate you to want to go. I canceled my appointment due to rain. I didn't want to travel in my wheelchair and have to get a wet before working out. I explained that when I called and they asked me over the phone if im sure I want to do physical therapy because of the appointments I missed during covid. That's not the question you're supposed to ask patients if you want business and are a so called physical therapy. Luckily that experience motivated me to find another physical therapy that actually cares. Thanks for nothing Carnahan.

It's so good that it's popular, thus busy and sometimes hard to get in.

Front desk was absolutely terrible!!! Wouldn’t take accountability for her mistake! Please go somewhere else!

The therapists are excellent here. However, the front counter people have said things to me that made me decide to go to another PT. I had to cancel some appointments because I got Covid. Then in an email and also when I started going again, both times they mentioned I had several cancelled appointments on the books. It's uncomfortable when they tell you no problem/thanks for letting us know but they also mention “numerous” cancellations with a disapproving tone within earshot of other people! I have a feeling that if I had never given them extra work by rescheduling, then things would be fine. But it’s awkward to go there now. But this is just me. If you have good dealings with the front desk, the therapists are excellent.

Just completed several weeks of therapy here. I can't say enough about the great care & professionalism of the staff. We are lucky to have Carnahans in our community for so many years. Thank You all!

The staff at Carnahan Therapy is awesome, they are not just friendly, as per say you normal every day ordinary client/ therapist relationship. The staff take it a step further, they treat you more like a friend, rather than a client.
