This facility is downright scary. I knew that I was going to leave as soon as I got in my room. The Linens were still dirty from the last patient. A nurse came in to look at my infected foot. She had henna tattoos all over her hands and her long fingernails were filthy. The place reeks of urine and death. Many of the patients appeared to have severe psychological issues and that no one was paying much attention to any of them. My caregiver showed up with a change of clothing and she told me put them on we're leaving immediately. I feel very blessed that I have someone around me that cares. Thoughts and prayers for anyone that becomes a patient in this facility.

This is not a very nice Skilled Nursing Facility. The pictures do not accurately portray this place. The nursing staff as well as the administration are lacking the skill set to be called skilled. I have been here for 3 weeks and it has been the worst experience of my life. I have had to remind my nurse to bring my medication, ask her to use an alcohol wipe before giving me injections and request she check my blood sugar before injecting me with insulin. The social services group made an appointment for me to see my doctor but failed to let me know of the appointment, so I was charged a no show fee by my doctors office. This facility is not equipped to accommodate diabetics. They don't not offer a diabetic menu or any sugar free options for the patients. I definitely would reconsider sending anyone I love here. There is no one who monitors the call button so you can literally sit here for over an hour before anyone responds. If you are in distress, good luck getting someone to help!! People yelling all day long are ignored by staff. This place is a circus. Don't get me wrong, there are some good nurses here but the negative definitely out weigh the positive.

I shouldn't lay awake at night worrying about my son's lack of care at this façility, But I do! My son has been there for a few days, I got to see him today. I am mortified at the treatment he is receiving or I should say lacking. The staff is not compassionate or interested in their patient care physically or mentally! After visiting for an hour I wanted to leave with my son,! And will do so very soon. Something must be done the place looks okay, but the staffing makes it an ugly place to be. I could go on, there is much more. This is distressful the residents deserve some dignity that is not given there!

If I could rate this place lower than zero I would. Absolutely disgusting. There is no dignity or respect of their patients. The facility sinks like urine and death. Staff is uncaring and unprofessional. They leave patients in soiled undergarments for hours, do not follow doctors orders, nor do they care. This place should be condemned. Parking to visit a loved one is almost as scary as the facility it’s self. Staff entrance littered with liquor bottles. You get no results or answers unless you threaten to report them, which I did.

My father was housed here for about 9 months following a serious medical issue and partial-coma. His first care facility, based in Davis, had an electrical fire and all patients had to be evacuated. Moving him to this location may have been the best thing to ever happen to him! He had fiery nurses that kept him on his toes, and playfully treated him like a family member. They had a no-nonsense policy and helped to motivate him to work harder and rehabilitate his muscles. The environment was always clean, and he was always clean, fed, and taken care of. They kept him on a regimented diet (he hated the food but it was good for him), and enforced a schedule with him. Through his recovery they also assisted in finding him clothes, and had games he could play with other residents in the building! They also have social workers on site that facilitate independence by finding resources for healed patients to return home or to live independently. I am very happy with the care he received. Their physical therapy team are superstars! This all being said, nursing facilities are a double edged sword. Limited resources means the best staff are likely paired with patients who are lucid, or have the best chance of recovery. Because my dad was lucid, he could advocate for himself and I only needed to step in occasionally. Families with family members who are not lucid should take care in the facility they choose. I have no experience with any facility in regards to long-term care for individuals who are unconscious or have limited mental activity. It could be excellent at this facility, or it could need work. My advice would be to seek a facility whose mission is to make this sort of patient as comfortable as possible. I gave this facility 4 stars instead of 5 for this reason only: if you are looking for a swanky place to put grandma, this aint it. It doesn't have the bells and whistles that other homes may have, not the newest technologies, and the building itself is dated. On my dad's transition out they were in the process of updating quite a bit of things, so it may be different now. Overall, I would send him here again. What they lack in luster, they gain back in the personalities and work ethic of their staff. I also think it's important to mention that my dad had conflict with some patients. It could be his fiery personality, other's desire for drama, or both. I often thought that patients were of a rowdy, and, erhm, often from the fringes of society. Take that as you will. Staff were good at handling conflict, and I never had any concern for my father's health or well-being.

My brother is currently at this facility. I can say that I like all the nursing staff the RNA's and SOME of the CNA's are good and friendly. However some need to remember their training. Heels on bed cause ulcers....The facility is clean with no oder walking in. I have found big spiders in my brothers room and the dinning room (by the drinking water bottle of all places). In the summer it is hotter then hell and sometimes in the winter it is humid. There must be no air conditioner in the facility. The temperature is never regulated. A lot of people I run into at this place say the Administration should be fired. They act like they want to help you and smile to your face but you know they don't like you because you ask questions and want answers...isn't that how it should be - after all it is our loved family member there. If your loved one needs Physical Therapy or Speech Therapy I feel sorry for you. The Speech therapist will only evaluate my brother every 3 months...weather he is improving or not...really. At least he can come by all the rooms and check on patients...you never see him except sitting behind his desk...no interaction - he is so unfriendly. He doesn't even talk to family members...only if you walk up to him. Disgusting display of professionalism. My brother has not one time been to the physical therapy room. They do not help...this is a help yourself place and die while trying. If my brother didn't have to stay here I would have had him someplace else long ago. We have asked over and over for the Social Worker to find a place closer to us but her attempts always fail. Guess they will lose money if the bed is not occupied. I wish the State would survey me and my husband - we have observed a lot.

I've been here since Feb 28th and so far not that impressive. Food ozk if you wanna eat like a bird. Real eggs tho compares to other places I've been. Night nurses not that wonderful. Sometimes I feel neglected. Best places to ho are Asbury Park, Eskayon Manzanita and Eskaton Fair Oaks, amongst others. I'm not that happy here.

I just visited a friend of mine. As a retired RN who has worked and visited many nursing homes, I would like to say some very positive things that I noticed and which were up to CA State Standards. There was no odor when I walked in (always a good sign). There was quite adequate statff and I was able and encouraged to talk to an professsional there i.e. respiratory therapists, phyiscal therapist. Nursing staff was on top of things and responed quickly when needed. The facility was clean and the patients where up and active as their abilities would allow. I would recommend this facility to anyone. As far as the other comments, because I've worked and been a patient in rehab facilities, one reason that your mother was refused a bedpan was that they were trying to encourage her to get out of bed and use the bedside commode. It is unfortunate that sometimes the staff doesn't explain to family members the reasoning behind their actions. I would not be reluctant to be a patient there.
