Brookwood Baptist Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit

PT was great. Night nurses were horrible. One night nurse told me she couldn’t help me get out of bed into the wheelchair “because she had a bad back”! She didn’t have to pick me up- - just assist me so I wouldn’t fall. I was so ticked off! Why was she employed if she couldn’t help anyone? I was there 12 days and it was the longest 12 days of my life. Do not send any loved one there. I’m considering knee replacement and live alone, so I’ll need a place for maybe a week, but it will NOT be Lakeshore!

This is absolutely the worst place to take someone you love. They don't do any of the wonderful things they promise. The person answering the phone and yelled at me. She called my sister a liar. My sister called an hour after I had called. She hung up on my sister. She was sent back to UAB. The nurses and physical therapist couldn't believe how bad she looked. My sweet mothrr didn't live very long after going back to UAB. My mother was traumatized beyond our ability to share here. If your loved one to go to rehab, this isn't the place for your loved one.
